I said Before I’m going off what Johnson says and the stats.

If you want to make a point make a point.

What part of your posts are what Jay has said?

That’s dumb. You’re comparing 7 players who showed significant year by year progress to a guy who’s just bad at hitting.

I'm showing guys who went from being poor hitters to good hitters in one offseason. Milazzo hasn't played a second full season yet. How exactly do you know he is "simply a bad hitter" who can't improve.

Brad Cresse his like .411 in high school and was a huge prospect

Might want to take a look at Milazzo's high school numbers and recruiting ranking. Actually, you probably shouldn't as this doesn't help your argument at all
quote:

He hit. 292 playing in the SEC

Yes, 1 of his 3 seasons he did. Did he just forget how to hit his junior year?
quote:

Milazzo can’t fricking hit.

based on? An extremely small sample size?

Some of y'all are just children. Like the bar is so damn low to hit .240 and some of you act like that's predicting an AA season. What's wrong with you, seriously?

This might have sounded clever in your head. Unfortunately, it doesn't to anyone with a double digit IQ

Why don't you tell me what Jay has said? Has he said Milazzo is trash and will never approach a .240 batting average because he sucks that much? I must have missed him saying that

I’m talking about what Johnson said the other day about Milazzo being a good reciver behind the plate but there being other guys who can receive.

When push comes to shove, Johnson has decided Milazzo’s most useful bunting

Almost 70 starts across 3 seasons. Including the last two off-seasons when stats have been kept. In which he’s been absolutely putrid.

They are literally using him like a NL pitcher now. Bunting runners over because otherwise they know he will get out.

I think you let Milazzo start the season and slowly work in some other guys on sundays and midweek. At least we know what we are going to get with Milazzo from a receiving standpoint and I think that’s important for some of these pitchers as they build their confidence.

Maybe let milazzo catch for skenes on Friday if it’s apparent we are going to be in some low scoring games. Then use the other guys on Saturday and Sunday when we are going to need more run support.

To be fair, I know guys that go to all or most scrimmages and games and I still wouldn't trust their assessment.

We’ll see both but I don’t think Milazzo will get close to the majority of AB.

I never said he’d get the majority of the at bats.

I projected him earlier this year for less than 100 PAs.

But when we need receiving, he’s going to be the guy behind the plate.

Almost 70 starts across 3 seasons

so IOW, one full season that encompassed 126 ABs (47 starts out of 63 games), a partial COVID season as a true freshman, and a 22 AB season last year. HUGE sample size Lester. Thanks for pointing that out

because he has 2 sacrifice bunts in 21 plate appearances?

Again, we're talking about a .240 batting average. That would still be considered well below average

I just wanted him to finally answer the question that he hasn't been to a single scrimmage, yet he's speaking in absolutes like he has seen Neal play a single inning of baseball.

So then you aren't only going off what Johnson has said with your posts. Glad we could clear that up

Right.

He’s that bad.

But hey, maybe he’ll hit .90 points better because a bunch of all Americans did once

You need to chill. There is nothing that will be said by anyone in this thread that can tell us what will happen. I’m confident Jay will make the right decision and I think we have an offensive minded head coach that isn’t going to leave a big bat on the bench unless there is good reason. Would you agree?

So just enjoy the process.

Jared Foster, Gavin Dugas, Clay Harris, Cedrick Harris were All-Americans? Interesting.

I mean do you want me to name more guys. I didn't have to stop at 7.

Or maybe he can improve to become a bad hitter instead of a terrible hitter. God forbid the bar be set so high for him. But I guess if Sean Ochinko can't help him be a better hitter, no one can
