Redshirting at LSU is a sign you’ll likely never be good enough to play at lsu. Especially if you are a transfer

Curiel's HR was on a 93.3 mph fastball that Schmidt tried to sneak past him. Hands were too quick.

Regardless, I do think Schmidt and Evans will need to perform well for LSU to be a top tier team. If Mayer can get dialed in and have a 2 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio LSU could be nasty

Yeah, it’s hard to tell when you have only scrimmaged teammates. Im hoping the bats are just that good with all the depth LSU has. I believe it adds pressure on pitching so they can perform well against competition.

Yeah you almost forget about Pearson with the new additions but I think he’s going to have a breakout year. He’s also one of the most clutch players we have when it comes to post season. I think you’re going to see a lot of rotations between certain players. I’m really pulling for Frey. He’s got so much potential for his size and speed. Hopefully he taps into it this season.

Schmidt 95mph 2.1IP 51P4H 5BB 2HBP 4er K
—————-

What’s the details on this? 7 free passes? Tight zone/plate crowding or just one those days Rick Ankiel style?

He was sloppy, no doubt. But if I had to speculate, Yeskie was making him do things that he might be struggling with. For example, he threw two curve balls in a row that hit the backstop and Yeskie made him throw a third regardless. He got the third in the zone. I remember telling my dad I feel like Yeskie was going to make him throw that pitch until it landed.

He was good before yesterday's 4ER outburst. The first few weekends he had 7 innings and only 2ER.
