Not with 2 outs and a runner at 2nd. No. I’m not arguing about this. I’ll chalk it up to a missed sign by Dickinson.

You’ve got to separate the situation from the actual execution of the play.
Dickinson can hit. The coaches know he can hit. Let’s see if he can get a bunt down. The number of outs makes no difference, this is an intrasquad scrimmage.

The inverse is true, the coaches KNOW Dickinson can bunt, but he hasn’t been hitting well. Far more beneficial to let him hit there.

My guess is this is pretty close to the reason why. Maybe just to see if everyone's on their toes.

It’s nowhere near true. Dickinson is hitting sub .200 in the Spring but comes into LSU as a great bunter. Probably just missed a sign but there is no way that was the call.
