Bunting with a RISP? You sure about that?

WTF...brutal day on the bases so far for Larson

Not with 2 outs and a runner at 2nd. No. I’m not arguing about this. I’ll chalk it up to a missed sign by Dickinson.

Hernandez hit shot to mound high bounce to Ryan out 4-3. Runner advances to 3B. Reaves up

Reaves sacrifice fly to LF RBI. 2 outs. Runner scores. Braswell up

You’ve got to separate the situation from the actual execution of the play.
Dickinson can hit. The coaches know he can hit. Let’s see if he can get a bunt down. The number of outs makes no difference, this is an intrasquad scrimmage.

Braswell struck out looking. 3 outs. Evans FB 94.4 mph

They know he can bunt too…. In the words of Ron burgundy “when in Rome”
Posted on 2/7/25 at 3:38 pm to Gnash
The inverse is true, the coaches KNOW Dickinson can bunt, but he hasn’t been hitting well. Far more beneficial to let him hit there.

Anderson back out to the mound for his 4th inning. Arrambide up
Posted on 2/7/25 at 3:39 pm to Classy Doge
Arrambide struck out swinging. Hernandez dropped it picks it up and runs down Arrambide. 1 outs. Costello up

My guess is this is pretty close to the reason why. Maybe just to see if everyone's on their toes.

Costello flies out to RF. 2 outs. Priester up

Not reading through the whole thread. Can you update the first message with a homerun tracker for the game. TIA.

It’s nowhere near true. Dickinson is hitting sub .200 in the Spring but comes into LSU as a great bunter. Probably just missed a sign but there is no way that was the call.

Priester hits a slow grounder to 3B safe at 1B no throw from Reaves. Beck up
Posted on 2/7/25 at 3:44 pm to Classy Doge
Paul running for Priester. Beck singles to 2B. Dickinson double pumped it throw not in time. John P up with runners on 1B and 2B
