I like O's shirt. And that's all I've got to say about that.

Preemptive comment:

Spread does not equal pass happy.
Nor does it mean running the QB (you'd be stupid not to though)

Most spread teams run the ball over 60% of the time.

And I thought it was "spread concepts", which btw Canada was using some also. To be true spread, your lineman, in addition to everybody else, have larger gaps. I'd hate to see that... ours struggled with second level, speed rushers, and we've struggled with slant/twists/stunts horribly, for some reason, since Studwra.

I didn’t DV you but people probably disagree with what your saying because they don’t trust O. I’m glad you can bring yourself to trust him after he’s lied continuously but a lot of us can’t.

After the lies about coordinators, I will not believe anything of significance that Special Ed tells us until I see it.!

I'm trying to grasp where his spread background originates.
Did E run spread at Central HS?

I remember a few years back during the Cam Cameron era an anonymous SEC coach said LSU practices offense like an arena league team but they don’t run anything resembling that in games.

I can confirm this. Used to go to practices with my dad pretty often for a few years in the late miles era. Looked like world beaters on offense. Wide open. Fun. Never saw most of the plays ever attempted in games. Got tired of being tricked in practice and lost interest in going. I’m in the won’t believe it til I see it crowd.

I doubt that the practices looked like arena league although they probably worked on the passing game. However Les never trusted the ability to throw the ball. He became offensively constipated.
I never put much in Spring ball. Last year we heard how fantastic Canada's offense would be then in the spring game it looked like PeeWee football in a display of ineptitude. That translated into what we saw in the season.
Personally I would have expected Ensminger to visit some schools. I still believe he'll open it up more than we've seen in the past.

Yeah, amazing how those QBs went on to be world beaters elsewhere.

One thing I remember when Ensminger was interim offensive coordinator. No intermediate passing game. Run and chunk it deep was the offense. Have to be able to throw the 5 to 10 yd routes consistently to be a great passing team. I remember the good old days when we could throw slants and was one of the best wrs screen teams in the country. The middle screen was a great weapon.

Excellent point. That was Cam's offense though. We'll have to see what Stevie designs. I have to think that was an Etling thing tbough because Mettenberger killed people with the slant. Granted, he had Beckham and Landry, but these big guys we have should be able to get open in the middle of the field. Moreau as well.
