Shouldn’t the line get bigger if that was the case? Give USC more points to make it harder for LSU to cover as the favorite? Seems like more money is coming in for USC if the line has gotten smaller. If more money was coming in for LSU to cover at the original larger spread, seems like even more would come for the tigers to cover a smaller number.

This. Both teams are very comparable. -6.5 seemed crazy high for a Week 1 game with so much change on both sides. But even though I think we win, I still wouldn’t touch it at -4.5. No outcome would shock me at all.

Y’all are way overthinking this. Too many people/too much money was being put on SC. They want more people to bet on LSU, so they are making that side of the line more enticing.
That’s the alpha and omega of what is happening.
