No.

2015 averaged 440 yrs of O per game. 2018 averaged 402 yrs per game.

And, you fail to account for the overall weakness of the teams LSU played in 2015.

Apart from #1 Bama, there were 3 ranked in the final AP poll - Ole Miss at #10, Western Kentucky at #24, and Florida at #25.

In '18, apart from #2 Bama, Georgia was #7, Florida #8, UCF # 11, and A&M #16. (Final AP Poll)

you obviously are not familiar with Bill Connelly's work.

O is single handedly fighting back against these evil Soros-backed advanced football statistics websites whose only purpose is to make him look bad. The man is doing everything he can!

this poll made up from 65 sports journalists across america is far more accurate than any metrics could be!

These past 10 pages or so are peak O Pumper. Completely ignoring or outright disputing intricate mathematical data and statistics for the sole purpose of avoiding reality.

That you tout, yet can't come close to explaining

If it's so accurate, why does the formula keep changing? Why is it slightly better than a coin flip?

Do you watch network TV for free? Do you think no one is getting paid for all that content? Are you 12 years old?

Maybe next I can bring up the Theory of Relativity and see you deny the existence of so-called "gravity" since I wouldn't provide a full detailed scientific explanation of relativity.

because Bill Connelly is a perfectionist. I strongly urge you to familiarize yourself with his work. It's truly fascinating stuff.

quote:

Why is it slightly better than a coin flip?

he admits that S&P is slightly better than a coin flip for picking games week to week against the spread. i.e. he explicitly states that gamblers should not use S&P to make picks on the weekend.

but, like all data driven statistics, S&P is best understood at the completion of the season, when all of the data has been entered in.

this has been explained at least 3 times in the last 5 pages, and you have been linked to the creators explanation no fewer than twice.

Not at all

What data is used to determine an offense or defense ranking? In particular, of their opponents?

Keep in mind, the new formula relies on bias, as he stated himself.
