re: Spencer Ware not in the same class as Trent Richardson

quote:According to the statistics, Richardson is also more prolific as a receiver by a pretty good margin. Have not really watched him block, but I can't imagine he is defective in that area, either. And he certainly runs with plenty of power.
I think richardson is a better "running" back. he's got more speed, good vision, and very powerful.
I think ware is a better "all purpose" back. he catches the ball well, he blocks well, he run's well, has good power and vision. if he had richardson's speed. well, he'd be better than richardson.
so, the comments come down to speed. however, ware is an n.f.l. back and so is richardson. therefore, they are in the same class. They just have different talents.
it's like saying lesean mccoy isn't in the same class as A.P. at the end of the day, they are both very productive backs for their team.
I would only add that LeSean McCoy is NOT in the same class as AP. That they are both very productive NFL running backs (lowest common denominator) is not dispositive. AP is a future first-ballot HOFer. McCoy will probably go to a couple of Pro Bowls and that is it.
So even though they are both great, AP is in a class above. Same with TR and Ware. Don't know why it is so painful to admit this.

Against the same opponent (UF), Richardson's number were not that much better than Ware's:
AND not to mention he split time with Alfred Blue and a few touches from Michael Ford

He's just not... Ware is fantastic but with Richardson we're talking the best all-around feature back in college football since Adrian Peterson, in my opinion. I don't remember seeing a back as perfectly made for the NFL as Richardson, including Peterson, and though I realize this is about college, Richardson is in a class of his own that only Lattimore and James can approach.

fify. I agree btw. Ware is vastly underrated. TR is better but not by much. Ware is a better blocker and has better hands. He also covers more ground in centerfield.

I watched the SEC Express replay of the LSU-Florida game last night on CBS College Sports Network (an absolutely brilliant show, by the way). At one point during the telecast, Gary Danielson stated that Ware "wasn't in the same class" as Richardson.
Yeah, and Friday, over on the Swamp Gas forum they said LSU RBs were "garbage".
That's not what they were saying Sunday morning.
Opinions are like assholes, they change after a good reaming.
That said, I don't care if TR is light years better than anyone on LSU's team, I just care that the players for LSU play to their best abilities as a team....
...oh and BEAT BAMA!

I personally think Gary Danielson is the absolute worse announcer ever. He ALWAYS cuts on LSU, historically, always has.. He misses plays, misreports what happens, just a blubbering idiot, I get freaking sick listening to him. Richardson is good, Ware is not that far behind.. Richardson is stronger , but i think Ware is quicker, more explosive. Ware still has a couple yrs. left..

I'm not on a Gump board acting surprised that everyone doesn't agree that the Honey Badger is the best defensive back to play college ball since Ed Reid.
I haven't even said that I think TR is better than Ware. You implied that Trent was shifty and didn't have the power of Ware. I called you out on that fact alone. I don't think there is a tailback in america, under 250lbs, with more power than Richardson.

Well hard to compare any of our RBs to others because we use so many. If LSU ever decided to stick with just one guy and feed him 30 times a day Ware, Ford, or Blue any of these guys would have better stats. I am glad we have lots of RBs to use anyway.

Why do you even have to call out a great kid like Ware with a statement like this because Danielson thinks with his arsehole before letting the words come out of his mouth. One of the biggest douche bag announcers in college football.

lol no
so a RB drafted 1st overall in the NFL draft would be in the same class as one drafted with the last pick in the 7th round??
ha, no.

this is such a dumb statement as of right now bc ware is in his first year getting a significant amount of touches. last year he had 24 touches compared to richardson's 145 his first year. give the dude a chance to develop and i guarantee that if not by the end of this season then next season the idiot danielson will be eating his words.

Is Danielson a slapdik? or an arse clown?
I say both.
I say both.

For the record, Trent has had 115 carries and Ware has had 105.
See for yourself.

Watch the replay again. Regardless of what he said in comparison to RIchardson, after one of Ware's runs Saturday, Danielson said " my, he is impressive"

Richardson is proven with the stats, plays, and presence
That's because they have halfthe depth we do at the RB position. We have 3-4 backs that will play pro football. They have two. Ware is getting a whooollllle lot less carries. Not to mention Bama throws the ball hardly never.

And Ware is not the main RB every series besides, he would have more TDs if we give him all the goal line carries.

I'm basing it on the way he runs. I think that Ware runs a little stronger than Richardson. It's really not THAT hard to comprehend, even with a Gump education. Again, nobody is calling Richardson a scat back, but you are acting like Richardson is better at every facet of the game than every other back in America.
seriously every time you call a bama fan a gump or talk about his supposed education (as if there's any difference b/t the 2 schools in the first place) while trying to argue your point, you lose credibility. grow up

Just saying....who has Bama played with such a stout defense

Heck I'd put up some good numbers against PSU, Ark, NT, and Florida's weakness with a good LSU or Bama O-line
