South Alabama (1-2) @ LSU (3-2) TV:CST, Radio:100.7
Wednesday, Nov 23 @ 7PM PMAC
The Tigers return home after an up and down road trip to South Carolina where they went 2-2 beating Western Kentucky and Georgia Tech to face South Alabama. After starting 0-2 they came back to win their final two games. South Alabama lost 4 starters from last year and only return their 6’6” center (seriously a 6’6” Center???). South Alabama comes off an embarrassing loss to Florida State 80-39. This should be a game where LSU can control USA and win convincingly. The Tigers have a stretch of 5 games that are winnable before playing Marquette in the PMAC on Dec 19th.
USA currently has some very poor shooting statistics:
12% 3pt (0-24 vs Florida St)
42% 2pt
**Surprisingly though they shoot 5th best in the country 84.2% FT**
They get blocked on over 20% of their shots which is the 3rd worst % in the NCAA. They have struggled to get to the free throw line (but do great once they get there) and get 73% of their points from 2 pt shots (highest % in NCAA).
Overall their team stats are miserably bad, but it is still early in the season and their big loss to Florida St (top 25 team) could have skewed their numbers.
Starting Lineup
Augustine Rubit (6’6” 235 Soph Center) – 14.7PPG, 10.3RPG, 87%FT
Javier Carter (6’6” 215 Jr Forward) – 8PPG, 3.7RPG, 91%FT
Trey Anderson (6’3” 185 Jr PG) – 4.7PPG, 3RPG, 4.3APG 80%FT
Xavier Robertson (6’0” 180 Jr G) – 7PPG, 1.7APG, 87%FT
Mychal Ammons (6’5” 220 Fr G/F) – 10.3PPG, 6.3RPG, 91%FT
**This team is super small and have some trouble rebounding. They will try to out quick you on offense, but lack the overall size to contain people like Hamilton. Noone on their team hits over 25% from 3 pt so we should be able to stay inside the 3 pt line and force them to throw up long shots.
Look for big games from Storm who loves to throw up his turn-around jumper and the newcomers Hamilton and JOB3. Their size should be utilized.
Prediction:
LSU 84 v USA 55
Come out and support the Basketball team. They finished strong on the road and need the support.

With the size advantage we have down low, I'm hoping that we dominate the paint. We should do whatever we want in the paint in this game.
