Well, I am a Buc fan now for 23 years and watched closely through the Chucky years. You think the Tigers have QB problems now? Let Gruden get in there and watch the revolving door. Also, the EGO is enormous. Not sure how well it plays in a college situation. He has never done well with young player developement in any of his NFL stops, always looking for a vet to retool under his plan. Yeah the guy is Xs and Os gold but he tends to lose the locker room quickly. We heard stories about his relationship with the players in Oakland when he got here. We figured it was sour grapes. Well let me say when he left here the same reaction from the players came out. The general consensus of the players were they couldn't trust him. BUT, the guy got us a Lombardi and for that I'll always thank him.

I would never in a thousand years want Gruden as my coach. Having had the displeasure of listening to him on MNF for the past couple years I think he has the most annoying voice and over analyzes the stupidest things like John Madden. I would rather Muschamp.

Jon Gruden WILL be a recruiting powerhouse. He and Saban will get nearly all the great high school players in the Deep South

I would want a guy with a big ego here.
Also coaching college kids is different than paid professionals.

Prediction: Les manages to eke out a 9-3 season with losses to Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas. Crowton is fired but AD keeps Miles another season. UGA fires Richt, hires Gruden.

so LSU will agree to the 5+ mill a year he wants as a salary?

This is the side that people forget about
At the end of his time with the Bucs he looked like Ditka did at the bitter end with the Bears... tired, pissed, doing the wrong things... but too stubborn to change and turn the situation around
And he's never been a college guy - it's just a different job from being a NFL head coach

John Gruden will never coach in college. I don't know people think he's going to do that.
He has publicly stated on more than one occasion that he is not opposed to college coaching with a specific interest in Notre Dame. So, the right paycheck and high enough profile could get him in the NCAA ranks. Hell he's won a Superbowl i bet he would love a National championship just for the ego stroke.

Is he?
Yes, as overcomplicated as he makes his offense, when he has a guy running it well it rolls. I may not like the guy's personality but he knows his football from the minutia up....and some say that's the problem.

I found this while googling. Read no.9
Gruden Prediction
It seems Tony Barnhart from CBS sports started it back in August when he said:
"...the Tigers should be 5-0 when they go to Florida on Oct. 9. They won't win in the Swamp and then the complaints will start. You will hear the name of Jon Gruden. You will also hear the name of Will Muschamp."
Not a source, just some talking head with a rational inference.
Why is everyone so high on Gruden? I think he's an NFL guy that won't be near as successful at the collegiate level.

Gruden has a sweet gig right now, who knows if he even coaches at all until 5-6 years from getting PAID to analyze games and interview people.
I know people say he wants to coach again, but his gig right now is SWEET.
