Sounds like it's still possible for CBK to coach the bowl game

Hanagriff asked him about it because he did it before at Cincinnati. To be honest, I didn't know it was a possibility. I know we already said Brad Davis would coach the bowl game, but if CBK can and is willing to coach, I'd let him.

If Brad Davis is okay with it. My opinion, you told Davis it was him. Let him have it unless he is cool with Kelly taking over.

If he wants to coach the Bowl game grade his team. It's up him, LSU gave him the keys yesterday. He does want he wants.

I understand this point of view, but if BK WANTS to coach it, you sure don't piss him off and say no. I'd rather offend Brad Davis than the guy just hired to lead us for the next decade.

It’s impossible for him to “coach” the bowl game. He doesn’t know any of the play calling or any personnel packages that we have put in, yet. Now if he wanted to have the best seat in the house at the bowl game then I say give it to him. But it won’t be much of “coaching”

Thank you to the blairs2 for easily the best and most sensible post so far.
I have never seen a situation where the newly named head coach gets to coach the bowl game and hope it doesn’t happen here.
Coach Kelly should certainly get the best seat to get the best view possible of the bowl game.

I expect the bowl game to be played out like a spring game. BK will likely roam the sideline pregame and such, but there are current staff who won’t be held over. This game is their proving ground. BK will let them coach and he will just be an onlooker.
