Making last year look like an anomaly, didn’t even finish last year strong got blown out twice. Recruiting is meh, players aren’t bought in and staff is mediocre. He can replace house but he still sucks at recruiting….future looks like 8-4 is the normal. Pumpers will say but 39 players and he needs time blah blah…this is year 2 of portal football and it’s worse

The poor clock management was not something I expected from a guy with his experience.

Just curious: What would be some of those tough questions you would ask? And how would you ask them in a way they would be answered?

I’m not ready to say that but he has to make major changes to his staff (and they need to be excellent) and I also agree with the poster who said the media needs to ask “tougher” questions.

He knew the expectations and he should understand how unacceptable the defense is.

I am encouraged by seeing that Pete Jenkins is now on staff. It’s a start and Kelly did it quickly.

Most people aren't that patient & would rather have a full blown panic right now.

On here it sure seems to be the case.

I’m not saying that they’re aren’t issues, major issues, that need to be fixed, the sooner the better but people want a fix immediately and that’s not going to happen.

Adding Jenkins to the staff is a start, to be sure, and I’m glad Kelly did it quickly.

It tells me that he’s as frustrated as the fans are, if not more. Better than saying,”if I knew how to fix it, I would.”

I doubt Kelly came up with that idea. It was probably more like "Brian, this is what you're gonna do."

So who do you think suggested it?

I understand he’s not the most popular person right now but he is the head coach and there was a decision made to add Pete to the staff, not 48 hours after the game.

We were top 5 and may finish outside the top 25. We didn't set the expectations. He's failing in year 2 across the board.
Dl coach-fail
Recruiting-fail
Defense-fail
Personnel decisions-fail
Expectations-fail

Where's this bright side?

Half empty doesn’t quite cut it here. I think it’s been pointed out. We almost won that game at Ole Miss. Came down to the last play.

This is your primary mental hurdle to get over. Kelly didn’t say “this is a top 5 team, rank us up there.”

What I believe he said was “we’re still building and we’re about a year away.” He knew what he walked into

That’s what I’m asking. Did Woodward suggest that or is that just speculation?
