For every coach but the most transcendent, 10 years is about the shelf-life of a coaching stay. I think it’s time for LSU to seriously contemplate cutting ties with Mainieri.

He’s run his course and is complacent.

At best, Woodward needs to tell him to replace the entire staff or be gone. He needs to be forced to start over with virtually everything.

As an aside, the same can be said for Moffett. He needs a pink slip too. Our baseball team looks like a golf team physically speaking.

Why would you kick one of the better bullpen pitchers off the team & what does that have to do with golf?

Assuming we finish this season like most of us are predicting, 2020 will be Paul's last year.

Hope he's enjoyed his time here.

I have confidence in our AD now and I think he'll be here until he retires.

The program is undeniably in decline. We lose some of our best off of this team. Next year could be the worst team LSU has fielded in 20 years. This is the worst team I remember since Smoke’s last year.

Maybe it's time you moved on to a new bandwagon? Maybe pick a team that always wins.

On a sports show a couple of years ago a prominent AD said the same thing ten years is long enough . A coach becomes complacent, stagnant the fire is gone burned out old news.

ive just never seen something so hilariously lazy as to not have a hitting coach so a guy who makes over a million a year doesn’t have to bend over backwards to recruit

Seriously try not to make John Chavis look like he’s Steve Jobs with work ethic

Yep...complacency and laziness. And he’s an a-hole.

Just as boring a team as I can remember no doubt about it. The leadership or lack there of is what really has me confused.

I would too but he’s in his 60s and isn’t leaving his kush job at his alma mater where there’s literally zero pressure to win.
Give me Matt Deggs from Sam Houston. Knows the area/how to recruit. Knows how to teach hitting. Fiery guy and motivator. Our fans would love him.

For a remarkable number of whiny-babies on this board, firing coaches is the only solution to not losing a game. I just can't comprehend how so many of you get so depressed because one of our teams loses a game. Grow up.
