Lot of melt over the offense, just wanted to highlight a few positives:

The opening drive was effective
There were significantly less stupid penalties than we're used to
Canada had a different offense for his pro style and dual threat QBs
The jet sweeps did not gain yards but I noticed they uncrowded the box and opened up lanes for the run game.
Canada seemed to make an effort to get his play makers the ball

There are so many melt threads over the offense, and I understand why, but does anyone else have some positives they noticed? We have to try and keep in mind that a two week old offense played one of the best defenses in the country last night.

I thought Lanard was way better than I assumed he was. I never thought he'd get a meaningful carry, and now I think he provides quality depth at a position we really need it.

I Iked the creativity on the 4th and 1 play. Get the defense following Guice. Hand it off to Williams.

Did we even have one false start? #PositiveThinking

This offense has a lot tools in the playbook. Sounds convenient but, Canada hid a lot of it last night

One on the first drive at the goal line and one in the 2nd qtr. I could be mistaken but that's what I remember.

Thank you for the proper evaluation. This is exactly what I saw. Forget the melt threads.. Those are the ones looking for instant perfection, instant success, wanting things their way.. most of them are narrow minded- having tunnel vision.. and can't see the trees because of the forest.

Supposedly that was the most "watered down" the offense has been all spring which makes me feel a little better about the lack luster play. DE has got to settle down and just play his game. I kept hearing over the broadcast that Canada keeps telling him to "stay in his own lane" and thats perfect advice. Make the smart play that keeps the ball moving forward and the rest will take care of itself.

I like the fact I honestly have no idea who will get the ball on any given play. With all the motion and guys lining up at different spots, Canada can literally go play-by-play to feature which ever player he so chooses. That will make this offense so dangerous down the road.

I know Canada will feature the TE more than us Tiger fans are used to and I can't wait to see an LSU stat line that reads "5 receptions, 50yds, and a TD" for any TE we have, that will aid us in winning games that we would have lost under the previous regime.

The offense was the opposite of predictable for the most part, a few too many jet sweeps for my liking but, again, last nights offense was supposedly "watered down". However, going forward, defenses will have to try and prepare for literally anything and everything because of how versatile Canada can make the offense. All the motion and packages will cause defenses problems. Even Coach O was saying how the offense has been giving our defense trouble. OUR DEFENSE. that, to me, is really telling of this teams potential. Also, Canada has a great track record of offensive success everywhere he has been, he is at a school now that has a much deeper and better talent pool than he has ever seen. With as bad as we have been on offense, theres only one way to go, and thats up. I'm holding faith that we will be fine with what we have.

The best part is, once Canada get a QB he recruited, for his ideal offense he wants to run, with Aranda's D, and our recruiting ability with Coach O and Coach Robinson. I pity da'fool who has to play our team.

Our fans are delusional. The past regime produced the most productive te in the history of the program.

I'm not freaking out because it's the spring game. But I'm also not creaming my pants over some delusional bullshite like, there were no penalties, or the Jet sweep, or that Narcisse is as good as Deshaun Watson.

I want to see how they play in an actual game. Until then, most of y'all are idiots.

I assume you're talking about Richard Dickson. Over his 4 year career he averaged:

22.5 catches a season= 90 total receptions

238 yards a season= 952 total yards

2.5 TDs a season= 10 total TDs

Now by games started (35 games):

2.6 receptions a game= 90 total receptions

27.2 yards a game= 952 total yards

0.3 TDs a game= 10 total TDs

Now in total games played (50):

1.8 receptions a game= 90 total receptions

19.04 yards a game= 952 total yards

0.2 TDs a game= 10 total TDs

Those numbers are horrible when considering modern day offenses. The fact you give Miles and Co. credit is disgusting and embarrassing.

Go to your room and think about what you've done.

Give Canada an average-talented TE for 35 starts and 50 total games and I guarantee those numbers will blow these out of the water.

It appeared the defense keyed on two players, Guice and Chark; they guessed right...

I only saw the first half posted on YouTube, but I thought it wasn't bad. Some good run lanes opened up and the pre snap movement seemed pretty suprisingly coordinated for this stage.

The early dink and dunk was good, but then it seemed almost every throw was deep and the line struggled to protect. Not sure why we went deep so much, and I thought the jet sweep was over done.

Say what you will, but the defense played lights out. Kt2, d white, and delpit really stood out.

All I know is I don't want want McMillan taking any meaningful snaps. Exact clone of JJ, AJ, BH... and I'm not talking race, talking about the panic, inability to stay in pocket/read a defense and want to scramble

People talk about "the game slowing down." At some point, the light has to come on so the QB - or any other player - knows exactly where everyone is, what they're doing and what's going to happen.

Some guys just have it, like Johnny Football. As much of an idiot as he's turned out to be, nobody was better at knowing the entire field.

Other guys never get it, like those you mentioned.

But many just need time and experience. Etling has shown potential. It will be interesting to see how he does after his surgery. If it improves his throws, he might be very good.

McMillan hasn't had much chance to get experience in real games.

People are also forgetting how good our defense is. Of course our offense is going to struggle some. Good things on both sides of the ball. Not sure if its at a championship level yet, but we have a good season ahead of us.
