Two totally different situations.
McMahon has had 3 years to make the tournament. Something every other coach in the league has done. It does not take 3 years to build a winning basketball roster. See Missouri
O progressively got better from 2017-2019. He only went downhill after players opted out during the mickey mouse covid year.
Even 2021 they had ridiculous testing rules.
He should have been given at least 1 full season covid rule free to right the ship.
We would be in a much better situation than being stuck with 9-3 Brian

He had almost the entire season to vet new head coaches. He went after Herman, Texas entered the picture, he freaked out and just hired Orgeron instead of having a plan B. It wasn't so much not getting into a bidding war with Texas, but it was the fact that Orgeron was his only backup plan.

at what time? Maybe look at it another way. Name a good hire and decision he made as AD. Swung and missed on two basketball hires. Hired Wade but suspended him in the middle of the season. Hired Orgeron, who got us a national title but blew up immediately after. LSU was involved in scandal after scandal under his watch, from Title IX lawsuits, to football sanctions, etc. The department was a complete mess under his watch.
