LSU seems to have done a pretty good job of putting DL into the NFL without Orgeron.

LSU has put talent at DL in the NFL. Just imagine how much talent we would be able to put in the NFL with a great recruiter like Coach O. Why settle when you can better the situation and have more. He is a great DL coach and one of the best in the business. I want him mainly because HE WANTS TO BE HERE. THIS IS HIS HOME.

He was the DL coach at the Saints, Tennessee, and USC all after Ole Miss. So history already proves you wrong.
and he wasn't just DL coach at UT and USC, he was also assistant HC. being just the DL coach under someone like Haley would be a huge step down, one he has no reason to take. it should be the other way around.

Perhaps…but have we recruited poorly up to now without him?
on top of having those players here instead of facing them, if nothing else it makes us look weak, and perception is everything. that kind of national reputation is important, it's the only reason Ohio State jumped TCU for the playoffs, and TCU is probably the best team in the country. perception just cost them a title.
(*)although Im glad about Collins because he sucks and Willis seems like a dick, and obviously DJ and Trent didnt live in Louisiana but DJ was displaced after Katrina and Trents brother went to Tech - I think - and was considered a pretty easy get for us for a long time
