Someone needs to be held responsible for these stupid contracts.

Pelini and Linehan are both making out like bandits after just one year. Any other CEO, GM, head of a company usually is fired after making some really expensive mistakes. But the reality of college football is that there's so much money going around that these are just blips on the screen in the long run. They know that fanbases will still support their schools and demand will still be there. So basically zero accountability. I blame Eaux and Woodward just as much as Pelini and Linehan. Kudos to their agents for negotiating those contracts but it's our leadership who approved those and overpaid for underperformance. Expensive mistakes, but hey...they are spending someone else's money so it's all good.

THIS! He gave big contracts to two guys that no one wanted. He is now in the spotlight and needs to be held accountable for these just like O.

Unfortunately the HC has not proven he can build a good staff.
It’s been a revolving door since he took over. The D was somewhat stable, but after Aranda left it has become very shaky too.
Let’s see what happens next.

Now to be fair Bama has had a lot of changed too over the years but seems to do really well.

Have you seen buyout details? I haven't.

Woodward’s job is to enable the coaches of LSU to go out and get the best coaches.

The head coach is responsible for those coaches. Woodward just cuts the check to get them here.

Well, I think there needs to a frank discussion with O about the shite coaches he's been hiring first.

I don't understand how there isn't a safety net in these contracts for poor performance.

Can't we tie defensive rankings with payment? Set incentives for good performance isn't new, but lets set a lower limit for what is acceptable production and tie the buyouts in with that.

Because no agent worth his shite is going to agree to these terms. Their job is to get as much guaranteed money for their client as possible.

Ok, I will say it. I have never lost any sleep over how much money anybody gets paid at LSU or at Taco Bell. Just produce a good product. Some people seem just like complain. It's like they are getting billed directly for writing the final checks themselves.
