Agreed. He didn't exactly win anybody over with those comments. He could have said a lot more about just wanting to play and please support the team and he's sorry for the distractions and he and the coaches are dealing with it...yadda, yadda, proud to be a Tiger.

As much as it sucks to say this. We're are 5-0 and #1 in the Nation, but JJ is the hot topic. Go look on any sporting website and the first article is about JJ. So the media wants to continue to drive it. I'm not bashing JJ, it's just want they want to talk about.

It makes me sick, I wanna talk about TM7 and Lee's comeback and crushing skulls on Saturday.

Is he the only Tiger player that gets interviewed?
Maybe since people kept asking when he was going to do an interview, he told the people he would do one after practice?

Had JJ apologized and said he just wanted to be a part of the team and do whatever was asked of him, he would be back in the good graces of the fans. I feel those comments are going to cause alot of fans to be reluctant to cheer for him Sat.

and JJ could have quelled this thing and the media by saying something simple and humble and then saying I'm not going to discuss this anymore.

Or, even better, saying NOTHING ta all.

The media has nothing, unless you GIVE them something.

No, all the other players did it at the same time after the press confenrnce.
For some reason (somebody) felt he needed to do one all by himself.

It's was poorly planned and the execution was worse. Oh well...I guess we will have to wait longer for this bullshite to blow over.

edit: I watched the actual interview. It wasn't bad at all. The written snippets of it made it seem HORRIBLE.

I agree with this guy.

Then you have people saying "this season can't end soon enough." And yes- a guy just said that on the air. Others have said similar things here.
Now this, I just don't get, folks.

Seriously???? I have a question: Why do you even follow the Tigers? If you are still that disgusted- I mean, never mind that we're currently 5-0 and RANKED #1 IN THE COUNTRY- then perhaps you should start watching other sports. When you are sitting on top the college football world and you still aren't happy....I just don't know what to say.

I don't like the sideshow either- but I'll be damned if I will allow it to ruin what has so far been a very exciting and productive season. The dream is still alive and well, people. Saying you are displeased with a particular player is one thing- but don't give up on the team and the season, for cryin' out loud....

I think the Sports Information people are to blame for that train wreck. It appeared that he was simply thrown out there to the media with no preparation. Were his attorneys present? Was anyone there from SI? Maybe they coached him on some things to say and he didn't deliver, but that was a PR disaster for this young man. Why not have him read a prepared statement covering all the bases before he started answering questions?

This was a great point. After reading the rant last night I was wondering what he was thinking. But after seeing the interview, I totally understand what "taken out of context" means.

LSU is better with both Lee and Jefferson healthy.

More J.J. Thinking only about J.J. He has always come off as a selfish player from his pouting and sulking on the bench on the
occasions when he was pulled from the game. Now he gives an interview. For what? To tell everyone how it's been so tough on him and how he has no regrets? More grand standing. More, woe is me. Maybe now all the people who said this isn't a distraction and it is only the fans that booed that are the problem will shut up?
