Let’s be honest … we’d all be bitching if he left a pitcher in too long.

Keeping Rizy in too long, or even putting him in at all, was the main mistake.

That’s what it boils down to. Theo, Garcia, and Ricken did well enough to win this game. It’s a shame Lach and Rizy fricked it all up with couple of errors for good measure.

I would have rolled with Theo a little longer

It also sucks that Lach walked out there and hit a guy again, but it would have been better to let him try to settle vs the next guy up than send Rizy straight out there under that much pressure.

Well 2 came in and hit the first batter and Rizy came in and waked the first 2 he faced. It was the begging of the end. Been like that all yr. NOBODY CAN THROW STRIKES!

Correct but after such a tough and emotionally draining series at TN, why not start 9 guys who don't normally play and sub in some starters if needed? Tigers looked drained tonight and we barely dodged a couple big injuries!

Did you even watch? Everyone we threw before Rizy threw strikes. We didn’t have 1 walk until the 7th. They can hit the fricking ball.

We went right back to throwing strikes with Ricken.

I think these pitchers showed over a month ago that they were crap!

So did Floyd the year we won the championship and he struck out like 17. There is a fine line, in pitching, between not being able to make it out of the second inning and dominating through seven. As LSU fans, we’ve seen dozens of pitchers struggle all season and put it together in time for the Tigers to win in the post season. CJJ is looking for that in these pitchers. He’s great at finding it. Let’s see if he does. And if he doesn’t. then oh, well, it’s on to next season. We are not going to win the championship every season.

It’s all on Jay. He’s the HC

But it doesn’t mean much. He’s coming off a his second NC. He’ll be here as long as he wants to be.

Ha! No kidding!

I assume of course like what others have said - johnson trying things out, who works best in what situations, who can handle what and so on. Guess my biggest concerns is when do you get to the point of running out of games trying to find the right mix - and it negatively impacting your post season plans? Just doesn’t seem like we are seeing anyone really start to show any dependable consistency.

But shite - how spoiled were we from last year - going into every sec series you knew you had damn near a guarantee to win games 1 & 2?

And I’ll admit it - I’m spoiled and selfish, damnit- I want the late spring excitement of the run for Omaha. I want the feeling of confidence that they damn sure could be there - should be there. I depend on it to lesson the lull until football - and damnit it’s fun!

Honest question... how many of these mid-week pitchers had an "on night" this year?
