Defense

PPG – 16 (17th nationally, 2nd in SEC)
YPP – 4.27 (6th nationally , 2nd in SEC)
Opp. 3rd Down % - 30.7% (16th nationally, 2nd in SEC)
TFL/G – 7.8 (11th nationally, 2nd in SEC)
Opp. RZ Score % - 75% (18th nationally, 3rd in SEC)
Opp. RZ TD % - 50% (25th nationally, 3rd in SEC)

Offense

PPG – 40.1 (7th nationally, 2nd in SEC)
YPP – 6.43 (31st nationally, 3rd in SEC)
3rd Down % - 50.9% (13th nationally, 2nd in SEC)
TFL Allowed/G – 5.8 (101st nationally, 11th in SEC)
RZ Score % - 88.9% (41st nationally, 7th in SEC)
RZ TD % - 71.1% (28th nationally , 5th in SEC)

Note - I like YPP a lot more than YPG, better idea of efficiency. But in YPG we are lead SEC in both and top 10 in country.

Defense is humming. Need to clean up TFL allowed and get more scores in the red zone on offense.

Defensive numbers are definitely inflated given early-season games + fully healthy defense at the time + playing Miss St w/ inexperienced backup QB

They are inflated for everyone. Everyone plays pancakes. But we also played Clemson instead of it being a Tulane type school. Defense is legit

Sure but not everyone lost two of their best defensive players/leaders or got to play a backup on the road rather than a potential first round QB

Just move the bar wherever you need it in order to convince yourself of what you want to believe.

I think the fact that everything given up in the first two games was given up by backups evens it out

Yeah by late October, stats pretty much even out since everyone has a decently equal share of cupcakes, injuries, and garbage time baked in.

We're 8 games in. The Oline is what it is. It's not something that can be "cleaned up", especially against the next 3 dlines they'll face.
