Sigh. Sunseri watches good pitches go by then has to protect herself swinging at bad ones with two strikes.
There no doubt if we had an instructor as hitting coach that both Doyle and Sunseri would be in the middle of the order hitting .300-.325 with 20-25 HR each.
Damn, we leave so many runners stranded.

I don't know about 20-25 HR's, thats a bit much but I just want more consistency and steadiness at the plate. The amount of home runs doesn't mean much if your hitters are all hovering near .200, I'd rather take less home runs and be near .300 BA, draw walks and get on base.

Anyone have an explanation for Sunseri's batting? I don't know that I have ever seen a bigger drop in baseball or softball. Did she suffer an injury that killed her power swing? Is it a change in approach? Loss of confidence?
Edited since someone posted the stats. Looks like the power went away in 2020 and never returned. So odd.

Even her freshmen years numbers didn't tell the whole story. I remember everything coming off her bat screaming and to all fields. Her outs were always loud.
