Those catcher throws to second in college baseball and softball are fraught with peril.

When they throw, it's like when some of LSU's former QBs dropped back to pass. "Oh $#@!"

Owns a snow-cone stand, never eaten a hamburger, and has a pet racoon.

They're just making stuff up now.

Why does LSU have so many coaches sitting in the front of the dugout all the time. Only team I ever see do it. Is there a reason they need that many people up there?

I was worried somebody was gonna say something going to the 7th about the no-hitter.

Quinn.
Isn't it "fair" to give someone else a chance?

Rollins avoided it on TV but then he had to cheese it up by doing a Vin Scully impression and giving the date and time of the no- hitter.

It's college softball Lyn, not MLB.

Come on. Say it. You know you want to stir some shite. No better time to bring it up than after a team win and a no hitter by the pitcher...

So people aren't allowed to question a certain player's performance if another has a great game?

I know it's different but as an example, people have called out QB, WR, Oline performances on here multiple times after LSU wins over the years despite other individuals at LSU having all world kind of games that won it for us: Fournette, Tyrann, Hill, Guice, Eric Reid, so on so forth. Those guys have at some point single handedly won games for us.

Because those players have had incredible games, it's not okay to bring up another's struggling performances (past 3 seasons btw) while the top SB recruit in the nation who has tons more talent and can change games with her fielding, hitting, and baserunning continues to sit behind her for no apparent reason?

It's not okay, he has anointed himself the softball board moderator. Don't dare question even the obvious.

Hoover had a great game and the idea that she threw a no hitter shows you how incredible she is. She is not 100% and definitely didn't have her best stuff. She bulled her way through it. What an absolute beast Hoover is.

It was great to see Andrews get a shot in left. I could see her and Griggs eventually flipping to give us added range in CF. Serrett had some really good swings at the plate, Jaquish is Jaquish, Landry is Landry and the two freshman that have been given an opportunity to shine continue to look good at the plate. Sanchez is solid at third but it remains to be seen if she can offensively produce the way we need our 3rd basemen to produce.

Great overall night for the Tigers.

We are a grand total of 6 games into a long season and Quinn played pretty well last year

Nope not at all, she played very well down the stretch and in the postseason too. Felt good for her considering how much she struggled her sophomore year

Yes. Quinn committed 20 errors last year. That sucked. Does that mean she is going to commit 20 this year too?

Quinn also made a lot of great plays and her instincts on the bases are outstanding. If she doesn't catch the line drive in the 7th inning of game 3 of the super regional at JMU, there is no WCWS. She turned a single into a double with 2 out in the 7th inning of game 3 vs Washington, then scored on a single to tie the game. Without her heads up baserunning, there is no Walljasper game winning homer in the 9th. She makes plays....and they aren't all bad.

There is more to the game than hitting and running and fielding. Quinn is a leader on the infield. She helps coordinate the positioning of the other infielders and signals and stuff.

I tried to point this out politely in the thread Sunday but it fell on deaf ears. Dawson will play soon enough...she just has had some things to learn about the college game and the LSU way. This isnt something i made up... this is from a reliable person on the inside. Trust the coaches that are every practice. They are bringing her along. She isn't in the doghouse. The coaches aren't idiots. Give it time. Coaches like to win. Be patient.

This. She won the last Washington game almost by herself and was simply great for us in the postseason

What is this college game and "LSU way" of playing softball that great players cannot adapt to but allows some players to be a leader on the field while significantly underachieving in every measurable category? That's a real question, please explain. I'm always open to learning new things.

Now you are just making stuff up. Take out the High School Brooklyn team in the first game of the regional and Quinn hit .200 in the post season last year and lead us in errors. She hit .210 in the Supers and WCWS.

I get it, you like Quinn and I do too. She is relatively athletic and has some speed. I have watcher her play since her days with the Voodoo and I am pretty aware at what she brings to the table. Sometimes history matters and you know exactly what you are going to get from a player.

It is completely a political decision that the staff believe outweighs the significant production upgrade that is sitting on the bench. I just hope Dawson is mentally tough enough to deal with watching someone in front of her that she knows has not one single playable or productive ability greater than any one of hers.

If you find yourself doling out the "take out XX player's best game and you'll see they sucked" argument you're in a bad spot really
