I probably should have worded it better.

You have to play flawless and the pitchers perfect. We would still be playing if the defense doesn't give the other team a gift.

May be propaganda, but this is from the LSU website... maybe we have a talent issue too (don’t mean anything bad about the players, but I had the recruiting rankings broken down really well by 357 I think in a previous post)? Or both??
“Since helping take the reins of the Tiger offense, the program has seen its offensive numbers surge to new heights. LSU has produced some of the most prolific hitting teams in program history. Fourteen individual single season records, eight individual career records along with twelve offensive season records have been broken since Dobson’s arrival in 2012. During his time in Baton Rouge, Dobson’s hitters have collected eight All-American awards, seven All-SEC First Team honors and four All-SEC Second Team honors.”

I guess my main gripe would be stick with a permanent RF, I don't like the musical chairs per say with that position.

I don't follow the ins and outs of our softball program but I love watching them the past few years. Prior to that I didn't even follow softball at all.
But we have not seemed to recruit a lot of top notch hitters of late. Or am I clueless?

MAJOR shakeups are needed
Too late I think. Another hitting coach needs fall ball to evaluate. Then again who knows if any of what is there now will become a Bell or Jaquish?

The reality is there is a MAJOR developmental problem here at LSU with hitters. Players should improve from experience, most aren't and fall backwards. Serrett hits over .300 her freshman year and now can't seem to hit consistently and has become a strikeout machine.
This isn't the most talented LSU team ever but other teams work with less than LSU and put up way better offensive results.

How many of those records and All-Americans were a handful of girls that came to the program with significant hitting prowess already established?

If the season plays out like it’s been there’s just no way Dobson survives this.
She’s too professional to have Dobson pack his bags mid season though

f she did who would be the hitting coach?
Nobody may do a good job. However, we already have a nobody so nobody would hurt.

It would be interesting to know who evaluates the hitters before they are offered? If Beth does the pitchers she seems to be good with that. If she leaves it to Dobson then he has done a terrible job. Unless of course a few hitters who can't hit the broadside of a barn suddenly become Ted Williams.

Gotcha and that I DO understand. Thank you, as usual!

All of the coaches evaluate and recruit, but yea Dobson and Leftwich should have the best ideas of what constitutes a good hitter, obviously all pitcher stuff runs directly through Beth
I hate to sound like a whiny bitch. I just hope we can be successful moving forward and find some type of consistency

and her batting coach did nothing to fix her swing
everyone knows its very long and it leads to inconsistency
On top of it she has way less extra base hits as well. Its a decent question to ask why her numbers have dropped dramatically

The offense stands in stark contrast to what tennessee and south carolina had going yesterday and today. Wide open swing away offense. Both teams can really hit.

I honestly don't know where we go from here
Looks like the pitchers are a little frustrated.

Play the next freaking game. The team is 26-5. Ya'll need to stop being so damn melodramatic about everything. Stuff like a senior leader firing up her team in a huddle gets twisted into Carley's frustrated and yelling at the hitters.
