I think the magnitude of the game is WAY bigger for the fans than it is the coaching staffs. I don't think UL is going to do anything to compromise its weekend series just to get a mid-week win over LSU. On the flip-side, I doubt Johnson treats it any differently than if it were a game vs. Grambling or the like. Of course he wants to win and will, within reason, make moves to try to accomplish that.

Agree.

Our coming weekend series at DBU is a big one that could give us a possibly early indication of our Cajuns squad in a series format. DBU has been an NCAA Tournament team every year since COVID cancelled season, with a Super Regional appearance in 2021.

I agree with NIH above that Deggs could possibly already make the decision to have Pruitt start being part of the weekend rotation, which would take him out of the picture for Wednesday, short of maybe throwing a hopefully quick inning or two, then start him on Sunday. As good as Pruitt has looked as a freshman thus far in his first two starts, I would like to see him at least have to experience the fan/stadium environment of facing off against LSU, and try to perform against their lineup. Kind of a "Let's see what you've got kid" moment.

Pruitt has already shown what he can do.
A good/bad outing against us won't change that.

This is why I wanted LSUs three freshmen to throw tomorrow but we shite the bed yesterday and all of them ended up pitching last night. I think Theophilus could probably throw again. Maybe Ricken. I wouldn't think Paz would since he's coming back from TJ.

ETA: It is definitely a bigger deal for the fans than the coaches, but that allows for good learning environments that the coaches can use to their advantage.
