So, where do we stand with the new OC thing?

I see a lot of people calling for O's head. I think they're jumping the gun.
Regardless, he's not going anywhere. He will be here next year. And I think as long as he continues to recruit top 10, he will do no long term damage to the program.
Now, there are many reasons why O would not bring in a new OC next year. None of which are the best idea for the success of the offense. I've had discussions with people for over a week now, and I can't find anyone who thinks our offensive numbers would not improve with a better OC.
So can O and SE do what needs to be done and make this happen? To do whats best for LSU when it comes to better production? I hope so.

Bama wanted Freeze, too. It was blocked for both of us.
I think Bama's current OC will get a HC job, so they will be in the market, too. I hope we can be a more appealing destination if they allow Freeze to be hired again.

Hypothetical. Aranda gets his NFL chance this year and we promote Raymond. How do y’all think we do with E and first year DC Raymond? No knock on either of those man, I think they are high quality, but I think that’s a 8-4 season? Losses to UT Florida Bama and A&M. That would not be a fun season.

I agree, O isn’t going anywhere this year. He will be back next year. As far as the Offense, if they want to win 9 to 10 games a year and put themselves in situations where they play for a New Years 6 Bowl and occasionally be in the conversation for the playoff, then keep doing what they are doing, but if they want to take the step back to the elites (making the playoffs, competing for championships), then this is not the offense to get them there. Have to figure out what it is as a program they want to be.

There are several people in BR local media that think that's a pipe dream. Freeze and Orgeron are not buddies.
