I hate his game management but if he wins I don’t give a frick.

He had a pretty solid night besides batting 4 lefties in a row & green lighting Beloso 3-0

It worked out pretty damn well.

If Beloso would have got a hit on that 3-0 pitch, would it have been a bad move?

I don’t look at things based on results. I’m process oriented . You don’t green light with your best hitter on deck

Could be argued that Beloso IS your best hitter

It could be. Still wouldn’t do it in that spot in the game

I wouldn't have either, especially with the pitcher struggling the way he was.

You say this like Beloso isn't our other best hitter.

Would you have greenlit him on 3-1?

I wouldn't be disappointed if he retired

I think Beloso has earned that green light. Can’t fault Manieri there.

Not splitting hairs over that, but Cabrera had homered the inning before, his 2nd hit if the game.

It was just a little aggressive for me Left vs left late in the game with two outs. Had there been one out I wouldn’t even be commenting.

3-1 he’s free to do what he wants in that situation 100% of the time

Well, I don't disagree with almost all of what you said. I just think that Beloso is our best hitter, so that's where we differ. I was saying before the pitch, green light the 3-0. But again, I think Beloso is our best hitter. It can be debated whether that is true or not, but the fact that Beloso is in that debate says that it's not wrong to green light him, in my opinion.

You know analytics has pretty much proven that there isn't much difference between a 3-1 and a 3-0 pitch.

Why, in your mind, is he free to do whatever on 3-1 but not 3-0?

ETA: In fact, the train of thought on 3-0 is changing with the argument being, what's the point of a taking a get-me-over fastball that you know is coming just to get a base when it's your best chance to swing for the fences?

It didn't work out for Beloso there, but there was no fault in swinging.

That's easy to answer. Because he didn't get a hit on 3-0. If he would have, then the post wouldn't have been made. You can say, "I'm results oriented" all you want, but we all know that this isn't talked about if Beloso delivers. So it is 100% results oriented.

You have a better point if Cabrera swings it right handed.
