So we bench JD, put in Nuss and...

...our secondary is still garbage and get 30+ hung on us each game. Not saying JD is perfect, nor am I saying that I wouldn't want to see Nuss get significant playing time this season over him to attempt passing verticality with the offense. I am saying that so much breath has been wasted the past 48 hours over something that 1) won't change to your liking the rest of the season and 2) would have impacted the outcome of last night's game very little. Maybe we don't get blown out if Nuss played in that game Sunday, but we still lose and you know it.

Nope, Nuss has a pulse unlike JD, can open up the playback, and throw players open.

That's exactly my point, every win has to be a shootout with this defense. It's unfair to Daniels (and Nuss) to be expected to carry this entire team. If Nuss was THAT DUDE who could do it, he would be playing, but he's not and that's okay, he and Daniels shouldn't have to be.

Well I agree.. the defense is
Putrid
AND looked gassed after the 1st drive of the second have. Gram bling is a decent game to get some things straight but MSU will be a tough game…

It’s very telling how many of the loudest and extreme critical voices are also the Nuss fanatics. Pretty pathetic really because it makes no sense in this context.

We still would have gotten blown out. Nuss is a gun slinger…he would have thrown for a couple of more touchdowns, but he also would have thrown for a couple of extra interceptions as well.

Why cant people understand it's ok to talk about upgrading a position while also admitting it's not the only problem.
NEwsflash - everyone knows the defense sucked and changing QBs doesnt fix that, but that doesnt mean its pointless to talk about changing guys up on the other side of the ball when you realize some of them might have a lower ceiling than others may have. I dont see people complaining about the people who would like to see someone other than Lacy as the 3rd WR.

Nuss isn't going to win us shootouts either. Part of that is on our receivers, part of that is his propensity to throw interceptions and how the defense would've adjusted to a pocket passer.
Daniels played pretty well by the stat sheet and the eye test. I'm sure Nuss would have played pretty well too, but it wouldn't have changed the game. That's why this weird 72 hour melt about the QB doesn't make any sense to me

Because coaching, experience, and live game reps wouldn’t help lessen that “propensity.”
