At this stage of the season it is doubtful just handing the ball off for 10 to 15 plays would ' season ' Brennan any more than he is. The only way he develops is to actually pass the ball after reading defenses and making decisions under pressure. They were not going to pass regardless of who was in the game.
Why take the chance of turning a comfortable 20 point lead into a 13 point game with time left for quirky things to happen. While those things might not happen it was better to take the win safely and not take any chances of a miracle finish.

Brennan will play at Bamma if
a) Etling needs to be out
b) a long shot maybe.. for a trick play series
c) if game is out of hand
his quick release and lack of experience makes him vulnerable to disguised coverages at this point

Don't listen to these idiots. We were running AT WILL, there was no reason not to give him a series. DE is a liability in the true passing game.
This is where the true criticism of O is deserved. He is fricking us for next year with no experience at qb.
I know it's different coaches, but the culture LSU has created of horrible qb play is still not gone. It's hard to break and O is falling into that culture unintentionally.
It's sad to watch all of this talent, year after year, have to be handcuffed with subpar qbs

I agree with your point on letting Brennan get some snaps on the road. If Etling ever gets injured, we'd be better off with a guy that's had some playing time in a hostile environment than with one who hasn't.

Just cause we won doesn't mean we can't see the glaring inability of our qb to throw a pass over 20 yds. Or be consistent with poise and accuracy.
OM is a bad bad team. We should have been able to execute our passes against them when out running game was so successful
