Now you are talking out of your arse. We have won one every 4 years under Miles but y'all aren't happy. You are saying that if next year LSU won the SEC that the entire fan base would be happy?

Being elite was fun while it lasted,
What was that maybe a 2, 3 year run. People act like we have been so badass for 10 years, we basically have had 2 or 3 dominant years since 2001- the 2 NC years and then 2011. The other seasons have been a mixture of 10 and 11 wins resulting in losses to our rivals or lower tier bowl games which we lost. How is that being 'elite'?

But suuuuure lets fire him and take our chances with those guys still wanting to come to a school in the midst of a coaching change.

Had Saban lost on defense what we did from last year, the gumps would be the ones bitching right now. It's not the coaches fault that the whole damn defense left a year early, and their backups have not shown the same ability and/or talent, at least up to this point. Who do the fools want as the new coach? The only real answer is Saban and for the last time folks, HE IS NOT COMING BACK TO LSU!!!

We lost 8 players on defense to the draft. How stupid does someone have to be to not expect us to take a step back this year?

I don't have a problem with Chip Kelly. But you're wanting to get rid of the 2nd winningest coach in the history of our program for someone who has had virtually no success vs SEC teams.

Another way to look at that would be you would be willing to get rid of a coach who has no philosophy, no game plan and no x's and o's ability for someone who has all of that. Given our talent and the recruiting hotbed of La and you think Chip Kelly couldn't make that engine run? You are delusional.

"Success vs SEC teams, and past history of LSU" is completely irrelevant.

What's wrong with 10-11 win seasons between championships?

Its also a giant waste of tine calling for Les' head seeing that there is zero chance that is happening. He just signed a new contract and isnt going anywhere anytime soon. Its a mediocre year. It happens. Get over it. We have a nice recruiting class coming in and the defense will be a little more mature next year, especially the secondary.

Les Miles is THE ONLY coach to consistently be a threat to his domination.

Dude, come on.

That threat was eliminated on 1/9 and reinforced with a vengeance last night.

The rarity is that in a best case scenario we are competing for no better than 2nd in our own division, with a serious trend to being only slightly better than Mississippi state.

What will you sunshine pumpers excuse be in 2 weeks when aTm drops 50 on us or the following week when we lose to the worst Arkanasas team in recent memory.

Its called being realistic and recognizing that we aren't going to be in the chase for the national championship every year. We made it to the national championship with jordan jefferson and jarrett lee at QB. There are maybe 2-3 coaches in football that could have got that team to the NC and put together a defense like that.

Miles can't convince them to stay, and win a championship, even though they won't even get drafted in the first 5 rounds and basically get mediocre NFL money!

Why do you think that is? The players themselves can see that Miles can't coach them to a championship and improve their draft stock, so they leave when they can to play the lottery of the NFL. None of those guys had any loyalty to LSU including Sam Montgomery who constantly boasted about his love for LSU, but when offered even a low level contract he bolted...he wasn't even ready or good enough yet to stay in the NFL but he gambled and lost. the list of players who have done this in the last 5 years is LONG.

LSU has always had pro quality skill players in very lean years. The talent on the line of scrimmage and MLB is depleated. If it is not built back up again quickly, we will be a 9 win a year program.

We were out of the race for anything significant in almost every one of those seasons by week 9 with 3 games left to play and have lost the bowl games in '09, '11, '12. Twice to teams that are considered to be second tier teams.
