Uh - think what you must to feel better about it but Saban brought LSU 2 National Championships. Miles just happened to be in the right place to get his picture taken with Saban's Crystal the 2nd time.

you are starting to sound like a broken record, promie.

but my answer is...if he's able to dominate the SEC, it's because he's assembling a massive, scary amount of talent. not just good talent, great talent. that, combined with a 'better' saban equals results.

.....and remarkably, UF fans weren't calling for Urban Meyer's head like LSU fans are calling for Miles'.

Why? I don't understand that. He couldn't do it when he was at LSU and there are better coaches in the SEC now than there was when he was at LSU.
Is he immune to attrition and having to start new starters like every other team in the country?
Nah, Bama wont dominate the SEC the way USC did the Pac 10. But just like florida under Urban has been the team to beat, I think the same will apply at Bama. A mix of elite coaching and elite talent and recruiting. LSU was more of a rebuilding process since it had no recent tradition of success. The "brook trout" thing maybe. Had Saban stayed at LSU, I think we'd be rolling too just like Bama is. 2005 and esp. 2006 teams would have resembled the 2003 team. IMO.

It's not about the past. It's about the present. And here's a stat for you:
2nd consecutive year undefeated in the regular season. Playing for BCS MNC this year.
Most considered the bama job a 4 year rebuilding process.
That's what it is about!
You do realize that he is winning with Shula's players and will for next year also. Maybe down hill from there.

Why didn't he do so at LSU?
Maybe he ran into a glass ceiling at LSU? Maybe the sky is the limit at Alabama?

This is a critical time. LSU turned a corner into an elite program: winning the big games and receiving top recruits from TX and LA. Right now, the winning mentality has to be preserved. It's absolutely KEY that changes are made to dramatically improve the offense next season and continue the winning ways.
Little will change with LM at the wheel...

but from what i head you can only really take Saban for 4-5 years. I guess this is more for coaches and personnel, but still i heard he starts to wear on you after a while.

I'm talking long term, over the last 15 - 20 years:
From 1988-2003, Florida was 14-2 vs. LSU and outscored the Tigers 482-207.
At one point, Les Miles was the only LSU coach since Charles McClendon to have a winning record against UF! So yes, I'd say they have been difficult to conquer.

IMO, there are too many good coaches and programs in the SEC for ANY team to dominate.
General, you may just have made the smartest post in TD history.

I'm just trying to get legit answers from Miss Cleo's assistants. They all can tell the future and I want answers.

You're right--we don't lose A game with Saban in '07...we'd have lost THREE games with him (that was his average for losses each year)...

What a crock of shite. So who gets the blame for the Dolphins going 1-15 the year AFTER Saban left Miami?

you dont think Saban could have taken what he built and gone AT LEAST 10-2, 10-2, 12-2 with a NC!! if you dont think he could have equaled or better that your insane...

Now come on dumbass, Saban has more of Shula's guys starting for him than Miles did. Get real, son.
