If that is true then what if it takes JJ 2 years??.. and since JL was redshirt fresh last yr he really didnt have that year to learn being he was 4th string as a true fresh...,, so I suppose we can agree that last year was on the job training?

See its like this, you cant have it both ways,,, you cant say something and make it apply to one player but not for the other.
Some of you enjoy doing that... honestly I dont think some of you realize youre doing it.

It was qouted by someone here recently that "JJ will surley imporove, b/c hes in his first year...." however many of you wont extend JL same the courtesy.
A personal bias between one player to the next is the reason why some of you do this.

LSU fans like you would rather be right than have the team do well it seems like...

The problem is several of the negatigers fit that description.

Dude, I'm on board with Lee's stats but you can't tell me the kid just lacked a little something, and I'm not talking about experience. It didn't help that he was handcuffing our already piss-poor defense.

Hardly no 2nd or 3rd string QB knows the playbook especially true freshman. I am excited about JJ I know we would be the man!!

I'm impressed if that is the case. Look what he did to Georgia Tech in 3 weeks. I can't wait to see what he does this year knowing he will be #1. I'm looking forward to a great year.

you can say that and while JL had pretty good moments, overall he didn't play good
and while JJ played good in both the Arkansas game, and lead us to a win in our bowl game

I think that quote speaks volumes.

Please tell me how exactly that quote speaks volumes about JJ being a bad QB? He didn't have a lot of confidence for a really good reason: HE WAS A TRUE FRESHMEN!!!! Your comment really shows how ignorant you are and how completely stuck on anyone else but him being our QB you are. There really is nothing more to say to you, ask any QB that comes in in his first year and at the end of the year if he feels comfortable enough to be able to confidently run every play his team has. Look at the first year that Teabow was at Florida, they didn't run very many different plays when he was in the game. Why? Because HE WAS A TRUE FRESHMEN!!!! ANd just so you konw, not one time in that little quote did he say he just didn't want to learn the playbook, he simply says he got more serious about learning it once he realized he was going to be THE QB.

If you truly believe that an 18 year old true freshman who was expected to redshirt should have been able to learn Crowtons offense while getting only 3rd string practice snaps, then you have never played organized football.

WHile i agree with you that it does seem like JJ gets more of a pass than JL does, from what we saw in his limited time, JJ seemed already better than JL did. So if that is the case and we take what you are saying and both of them improve this offseason, JJ will still be better than JL.

Aww don't get so defensive about this. After the first few games, everyone was on JL's jock, calling him General Lee and crowning him the next big thing. It took a lot of INTs for it to come to this. It isnt like there was any sort of anti-JL sentiment at the beginning of last year. And dont worry, we'll turn on JJ just as fast if he throws as many INTs as JL did.

What Lee lacked was ability to read SEC defenses and a inability to take his eyes off his #1 target. Those are problems that can be corrected with coaching and time.
He even admits in article in Advocate that he tried doing too much and did not rely on talent around him.
That is an issue with being a young QB. Its not like he mentally checked out of games last year. If he had mentally given up then Troy would have been an L instead of a W.

Jefferson showed glimpses of his potential and being #2 last year, well he looks a hell of alot better after the way Lee played.
Jefferson and Lee will look better this upcoming season and they will continue to push each other. Jefferson is the starter unless he struggles or gets injured. I know I do not hope for either but if they happen I am content with Lee coming in a game or 2 and I think he could win.

AS for this "he was 3rd sting" shite, AH was done after AU which was the third game of the season.

really, because i remember him having a pretty big part in the win against USC a couple of weeks later.

He was done after he broke his foot

we were 8-5 last seaosn which puts at 13 games. so 9 outa 13 JJ was second string not 3 rd string.

JJ was getting 3rd string reps until after UGA
