this conversation is about his abilities compared to Les Miles,

It's about comparin a coach that is always sharply prepared, jumps in players asses when they screw up to make them better players, and take control in the 4th quarter of a game when it matters.
wow...some of you have the memory of goldfish.
quote:
like Alem kicking a ball downfield drawing a flag
that was Alems fault...not Miles'.

the QB has to look to the sideline all the time to get a play burning up the 30 second clock, am I getting through here?
they stopped the no huddle (meerkat offense) about halfway thru last season.
What i'd like to know is why ya'll continue to make excuses for a man that hasn't been here in nearly 6 years and doesn't give a shite about LSU, its team, or its fans.....and at the same time refuse to cut any slack or give any credit to a man that has made some mistakes, granted, but continues to try to make things better....oh yea, and won a NC...which LSU has a total of 3. (3 claimed anyway)

Lose to Kentucky....and lose to Arkansas at home...have an insane amount of things happen like Pitt beat West Virginia and back into the BCS Title game.......I just don't see that happening.
Kind of like Bama beating LSU when Tigers lose their QB and RB and beating Texas w/o Colt McCoy in NC game.

quote:clearly not you, and your other statements are a bunch of BS not worth responding to. So it's on Alem for kickin the ball and drawing a flag, it's clearly a case of a coach not in control of the discipline of his team. So i would say it's on Miles.
who give a shite?
but you guys BS arguments are funny.

No my man, the Miles followers will clearly tell you Miles planned it that way, lose to 2 mediocre teams and then call WV HC and tell him to lose to Pitt so they can play for the NC.

hat if Alabama somehow won the NC with 2 losses? They backed in and ended up being where LSU was in '07......
I would have nothing to argue about, LSU was in same predicament and it would be wrong on our part to say they backed in and shite.
Regardless, Saban expects perfection, he didn't lose two, he went undefeated in the entire 2009 season. That is what makes him the guy.

call it what'cha want, I just like a coach who is organized and doesn't tell his QB to ground the ball right away when you know you need a field goal right away to win or hurry and snap the ball to try to throw a winning TD.
a coach that does his homework on the opposing team and is ready to play and not have his team playin chaotic football throughout the game. He has dominate talent, but doesn't dominate anybody, just squeaks by, so yeah I guess I'm guilty of wanting a responsible coach.
Saban could not have won with JJ at QB. A QB that does not understand the game kills an offense.JJ's confusion made the offense chaotic.

Saban would have put him on the bench and played Flynn, but let's not go there that's a whole nother bucket of bolts.

Fwiw, I don't hate saban at all. The guy is a great coach. It's the people that act like the guy has never made a mistake that bother me. Or the ones that act like Miles is the only coach to ever make a mistake.
I also remember people flipping their shite over sabans mistakes while he was here. Remember catastrophy syndrome? Yeah, that was his words for dumbass fans that questioned everything he did.
And fwiw, this thread was not how did Miles compare to saban. It turned into that. Like every thread does but wnt complain about it in this thread. Because this time it was kinda a natural progression.
As far as taking control in the fourth quarter, saban always sat on leads. So I don't know where you are coming from with that.
I don't like everything about Miles. But I know that he can win. I understand the reasons we didn't win the last couple of years and hope he has done enough to correct those mistakes. You, among others think he is incapable of making improvements. That's your deal, I get it. I however don't feel that way.

you missed Arky '02, Iowa, UAB, Auburn '04, etc.

ofcourse you do...you hate Miles. sometimes the players have to take responsibility for their actions. If it happened a few times a game, every game...then sure, its on Miles. But it didn't.
But like i always say about you guys....blame Miles for everything, give him credit for nothing.

Ofcourse they don't remember....they can't even remember him losing.

He won't win another BCS title so we don't have to worry about how much we will love him. The real doomsday scenario would be if somehow he miraculously wins 10 or 11 games and gets a contract extension. Our hate and disgust for him will linger and grow like a cancer. His family will suffer terribly. Oh the Horror.

Choctaw, just let it go man. We can start back tomorrow, go enjoy your Tuesday night.

My problem with Miles is when the pressure gets to him in games he chokes big time. Also him and Crowton need to get on tract with one another in some form or way first off by getting an offensive scheme down.

So you're saying it's not Alem's fault for getting upset, drawing his own leg back and putting his own foot on the ball and kicking it???? WTF kind of theory is that?
With that sort of thinking I guess that means society is locking up the wrong people in prison...let's not blame the offender...let's go after their parents and lock them up too. Clearly they didn't "coach" their child up properly to know right from wrong.
At some point the kid has to take responsibility for his own actions.
I'd much rather have a calm, cool, collected coach on the sidelines when the shite is a little chaotic versus one that will throw his headset on the ground and throw temper tantrums like a 3 yr old child that just had his woobie taken away.
I'm no Saban hater but he's not the Second Coming either. He doesn't walk on water and he can't turn water into wine.
My bet....he leaves Bama after this upcoming season or the next. Book it...he'll be gone.

I mean, a disciplined, prepared, well-game planned coach who always maintains total control of his team and players must have been responsible for that, right?
(cue endless blathering of completely irrelevant Miles bashing as they desperately try to change the subject, dodge the issue, spin reality, and anything else to avoid acknowledging that the Lord their God who defines their very existence could possibly have ever made a mistake)

Just like Flynn pulled that play out of his arse at the last second btw with stupid letting the clock go down again against Auburn hitting Byrd for a spectacular catch in the endzone. He doesn't catch it, LSU loses and has a third loss, guess what? no frickin national title, you guys are easy to pick apart.
