LSU had the 4th most difficult schedule in the SEC in '24 (7th most difficult in the nation), only behind MSU, Kentucky, and Oklahoma. I doubt this will be "the easiest schedule that Kelly ever gets at LSU." Tennessee had the easiest schedule followed by Missouri, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.

Which tells you all you need to know about rankings because anyone who actually believes either of these two teams would beat LSU is delusional or doesn’t know much about college football. Put LSU on the west coast or in the big 12 and we would be undefeated or have 1 loss at most. The playoffs will have to adjust their ranking system if we dominate our bowl opponents. There are several teams in the playoffs that if they were in the SEC would not have the same records and that needs to be addressed.

NIL, free lance transferring and these rankings all need to be addressed quickly or we will have the same darn teams winning this thing every year and it will likely be from the SEC. Put a team in that can actually beat one of the SEC schools and you might get a decent playoff. I’m not saying LSU deserves it this year but a 3 loss SEC team should be able to make it over a 1 loss big 12 team or ACC team. Watch how far South Carolina makes it if they get in. We beat them. Bama is another team that matches up well in the playoffs. Football if about matchups and that’s why I can’t stand these rankings.

Plus with all this turnover it makes it even harder to field a consistent team. LSU has to figure this out or we will be seeing this team starting over every year. We will have to start competing for our best recruits and players. Letting Womack go and losing these highly ranked HS DL and DBs isn’t how we keep building to a championship caliber team. Stop losing them and replacing them. Keep them and add more. We have plenty of room now.

LSU will start off ranked next season...as if I give a damn about preseason rankings. You've heard of Oklahoma State I assume. Did you know they were preseason top 20, finished 2-10, and didn't win a single Big-12 game? But please worry about LSU's preseason ranking...I find it amusing, Also, if you think the roster is "miserable", thank God you aren't assessing talent for LSU scouting purposes.

. Way to be objective on your brother’s opinion.

Definitely annoys me when someone like you lives and dies by subjective rankings...NOT objective rankings whatsoever.

You annoy easily and I fail to care about that.

You must really get upset on a coin flip when it comes up tails instead of heads because that is EXACTLY what rankings are.

Oh wow. You got me on that

Bottom line: I wish you a lot of sleepless nights worrying about the rankings

What their schedule is really doesn't matter. What matters is, where you are ranked in the long run. And the long run hate to say it, but they are ranked above us. Truth

This shows you just how meaningless the rankings are. LSU wipes the floor with either of these teams any day of the week, any season.

I wish I could agree with you. I think LSU could beat down on Ohio and some other higher ranked teams. But guess what, that doesn't matter. What matters is, where you are ranked.

You know the difference. My brother actually does his homework on his opinions. It is legendary that for the coaches poll for example, secretaries and such send in the votes and probably do the assessments.

As far as your opinion of me, don't give a shite! You lost any possible credibility when you acted like preseason rankings were remotely important. Go

Not sure what makes you say that when half of the SEC had easier schedules this year.

LSU avoided the top 3 ranked teams in the SEC this year. UGA, Texas and Tennessee.

Tell me which you think our toughest opponent was this year and which year in the previous 20 have had an easier schedule?

vs 6-6 USCw Neutral site*
vs 4-8 Nichols
@ 9-3 South Carolina
vs 5-7 UCLA
vs 6-6 South Alabama
vs 9-3 Ole Miss
@ 6-6 Arkansas
@8-4 A&M (Kelly 1-2 vs A&M now)
vs 9-3 Bama
@7-5 Florida
vs 6-6 Vandy
vs 6-6 OU

When in the previous 20 years has the SEC not had divisions? It’s apples-to-oranges with the new format. If you said it’s the easiest schedule Kelly has had at LSU I would agree. But you said it’s the easiest schedule he will ever get.

There are 7-8 SEC teams with easier schedules than LSU this year, and that’s true both for SEC-only SOS and overall SOS. The three weakest schedules in the SEC are Texas, Tennessee, and Ole Miss, despite the fact that all three played Georgia. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that those three teams are also #1, T-2, and T-4 in SEC standings. Schedule difficulty is a matter of cumulative W/L probabilities, not just the toughest game on your schedule.

Texas only played two teams that were >.500 in SEC play, and went 1-1 in those games. Tennessee also only played two teams that were >.500 in SEC play. They also went 1-1 in those games. This, despite the fact that over half of the conference is actually >.500 in SEC play.

LSU played 4 teams that were >.500 in conference play, and went 2-2 in those games.

I’m not trying to imply that LSU is as good as Texas or Tennessee. We obviously aren’t. The USCw loss in particular is inexcusable. LSU’s SEC schedule also wasn’t the hardest in the conference by any stretch. We were basically middle of the road. But I just don’t buy the idea that it’s the easiest schedule we’ll ever get when it’s not even close to the easiest schedule in the SEC this year.
