we still have Evans and Cowan available

One would have been used had there been a lead late in the game

Can only assume that was the reason they were saved in case of today’s if necessary game.

I like it under this scenario with these teams. You make them use their best when the margin of their best is likely greater than the margin of our best.

No one can truly say who is best out of Noot, Shores, Cowan, and Evans lately, but Cowan and Evans have done more heavy lifting for sure

This team has had its NW St type games like last night from the staff. You hope they got it out of the way when it could be afforded. If not, they were never a threat in Omaha anyway. I love their chances at home against anyone, not so much when away.

Would Jay pitch Eyanson or Anderson late for an inning if the game was on the line?

Eyanson has pitched in relief very recently and has more rest. Would be him if it happens.

Truthfully, it won't come to that

Evans being a true freshman in such a big spot is what worries me more. Him getting comfortable early is critical.

Anything is possible but I like the mental makeup if Evans more than anyone else we’ve got other than maybe Anderson. Dude hasn’t shown an ounce of fear all year.

I am definitely worried though.

For a glass half empty guy, I'm actually not here.

Feels more like Game 3 vs FL after being embarrassed.

Hell, Jay may put Pearson leading off

Remember when Belosi led off in Game 3? I would not put it past Jay to do something like that

After 11 walks, I don't care if they pitch underhand and hope one of the 9 people can catch. At least make them work for it.

I'm pretty sure DBU was very confident they'd beat LR too.

Throw strikes and intentionally walk their 1st baseman. Profit
or just don't throw him an 88 mph fast ball right down the middle. That would work too.
