Both those Whisky backs are legit, going to be interesting to see how they maneuver around an equally fast Defense. My guess will be up the middle. Corners for LSU are too good to get much laterally IMO. You negate speed by running at it...IMO, they have to live up the gut, or put a lot of blockers on the edge.

If our LBs maintain good lane discipline the gut stuff can be stopped.

spurrier seemed a bit confused at 1/2 time and post-game as to how they surrendered over 100 to two backs from Wisconsin.

They weren't even top 50 in the country in rush defense despite having one of the most dominant DE's in SEC history. Not that big of an accomplishment.

I was surprised at how many "big" runs USCe seemed to give up consistently. Seemed like a lot of 6-8 yard runs on 2nd and short. So I guess I can appreciate HBC's shock

USCe got pushed around for 4-5 plays at a time throughout the game. Then again, every time Stave looked to pass it looked like a 50-40-10 chance for a sack-interception-completion, so something to watch. LSU's D is more opportunistic than USCe's, so I expect a few more big plays from LSU in this game. Looking forward to it

This is the other potential gaping weakness of the 2014 edition of the LSU football Tigers. There must be not a little nervous anticipation on the STAFF about this...

'Cocks were 12th in the nation in points allowed per game…I'd say that's a pretty good defense.

Nah, Gurly will be. And we'll see how this Gordon guy runs against a real SEC defense. I'm going 22 caries for 68 yards.

You are correct, and Welter was overmatched against the SEC lines we faced. Wisconsins' line will be as good as; the better lines we faced last year. If we get improved play at MLB and in the middle it will be a long night for the Badgers.

agreed. I think this comes down more to LB play than our corners being shutdown at this point. If we need safety help downhill, it will be a tough night.

He sucked it up pretty bad in that one game. Haven't seen him outside of that, so I'll take your word for it.

I'm not confident at all about the middle runnnig getting stuffed like ya'll think. LSU was weak as shite when teams ran right at them.

Also have to account for the QB. They are starting the mobile guy, and they recently implemented a spread.

The best rush D Melvin faced last year was Iowa.
17 carries, 62 yards, 3.6 YPC, 0 TDs.
