After a few series when it was obvious that jefferson was not going to get it done, had he inserted Lee and at least tried to get back to our passing game we had at the start of the season, and still lost, but at least went down swinging, would it be safe to say that the fan base would be behind Miles and would be saying that he at least tried to win instead of quitting.

I think if he would have at least given Lee a shot in the last half of the 4th quarter it would be safe to say that the vast majority of the fan base would be behind Miles and would be saying that he at least tried to win instead of quitting.

Personally, I wouldn't have been mad if Miles put Lee in. At least he would have tried something different in hopes that it might work and be the spark LSU needed to compete.

For all we know, Lee might have played out of his mind in the NC game and lit Alabama up. We just don't know.

And to not even try and see if he could get something going when nothing else was working makes no sense to me... especially when he's played more than Jefferson this season. It's not like he was a true second-string QB... he was just basically an alternate QB.

If Miles would have put Lee in and he didn't do well, either, then oh well.. at least they tried.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. People probably wouldn't be upset, but we stille lose.

That being said, should have happened.

Absent a victory, you would never please many in our fan base. However, not even trying to spark something on offense made things worse imo.

I frankly agree that Lee's insertion would probably not have worked, but never knowing I think is worse. I would have inserted Lee in the second and if that didn't work I would have inserted Mett in the 3rd. But hey, I wanted to win.

I agree.

But it's been covered on here a million times.

We need to stop beating this dead horse.

I also would have liked to see Lee get a chance. Where I differ from others on this topic is that I would have liked to see JJ get an opportunity to throw downfield.

My point is, why are people mad that Lee didn't come in to take chances throwing deep when JJ never got that chance? That's why I'm more upset about the coaching and game planning than I am about qb play. If JJ had got that chance and failed, then I would more understand people complaining about not seeing Lee.

I'm not going to complain about a qb not coming in to be given different plays and a different game plan that wasn't available for the starting qb.

After JJ’s underhand interception, the defense if I remember correctly held Bama to a missed/blocked filed goal and the LSU crowd in the dome actually had some life. For a second it looked like JL was coming in and the crowd started to get louder as they were getting ready to come out of the timeout. The instant JL turned to the sideline and JJ came back out, the Dome went flat again. FACT. I really think all the team needed was some sort of park. It’s what they did the whole end of the season, looking flat and one thing turns then they play lights out. Maybe getting the crowd into it would have gotten the line back into it. Who knows…
