You do realize boosters are fans too.... FYI it does matter who they want, to an extent, especially the big boys on the block

It’s odd how all the posters against Napier disappear when Fickell is mentioned.

I’m not against Napier, but if Cincy finishes in the top 4, this argument will not have aged well.

I’m not sure what is the highest National ranking ULL has had with Napier, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t top 5.

The argument against Napier Bc of G5 is dumb. If you use the G5 argument against one, it applies to all.

Both are great coaches and obviously the target of any major program. What they’re doing at both programs is amazing.

I’ll happily take either.

I’m in this camp. I just think Fickell has done more with Cincy than Napier has with ULL. Since neither really fits thy typical SW hire profile, though, I don’t think either is his primary target.

I expect every poster who doesn’t want Napier Bc of G5 to post in this thread why LF is too risky.

One of them is competing for New Year’s Six Bowl and College Football Playoff appearances while the other is competing for New Orleans Bowl bids. ULL and Cincinnati aren’t on the same stratosphere when it comes to G5 programs.

A friend of mine says if the fans collectively have a #1 then we should probably steer clear of that one, whoever it is

Well the majority rallied and chanted to keep Les following the A&M game…fricked that one up

Then the majority backed the hiring of Ed

So yeah poor track record as of late to say the least

Well, let’s not forget the HC at cincy since 2004 that laid a great foundation for Luke and the amount of resources. Hell, Luke makes $3.4mm year to Napier’s $800k lol

Mark Dantonio
Brian Kelly
Butch jones
Tommy tubbs

ULL
Ricky Bustle
Mark Hedspeth

Both have far exceeded what their predecessors had accomplished.

Pursuing Fickell would be a colossal mistake on the level of Curley Hallman. They're both coaches who have been carried by great college quarterbacks to relevance.

If not for Desmond Ridder, Fickell wouldn't even be in this discussion.

Would be my absolute first choice but he’s not leaving all the Nike money especially with NIL in place now.

The Ohio Boy aint coming down South and his Squeeze wants no part of dirty filthy Baton Rouge.

The LSU Coaches residential living area off South Highland is nice, but you still have to travel from BR Metro to LSU on multiple dirty filthy Interstates, so that's all it takes..

If we going Defensive coach id rather stoops/Aranda. At least those guys know the SEC and have proven themselves capable in the SEC. Finkle is winning in the american conference. Not sold on him.

That’s one small concern I have about Fickell…Cinci is very similar to Houston…in that lots of coaches have had success there. It’s definitely possible it’s the program and not necessarily Fickell or whoever their coach is.

Hard to know, we’ve had 2 examples of Cinci coach that went on to big P5 success (BK and Dantonio) and 1 that flopped (Butch)…but all besides Tubby had great success at Cinci. Their program and schedule is obviously set up to have success through multiple coaching changes Even Tubbs wasn’t a disaster, he did okay there certainly not great

I like Fickell, would be totally on board, just thinking out loud here with one possible concern that for whatever reasons that’s an easy program to have success at
