Little did he know, that's exactly who Sumlin was on the phone with. Reports of John Chavis leaving LSU for Texas A&M surfaced the next day.
this part is not accurate. and they might have been on the phone like an hour before the game, not the morning of.

the game started at 3:00 on January 30th, the kid made his tweet around 2:38

and Sumlin replied 11 minutes later at 2:49

but Kleinpeter was responding to stories already out there about Chavis taking the job almost an hour earlier, at 2:06

That defense was really bad. It managed to put together a few stops in the 3rd and 4th quarter (With a 50 yard TD run in between) but was absolutely terrible other than that. AND, it gave up a 14 play drive to end the game.

C'mon now ... you are ruining the narrative.

ND had 21 pts in the 1st half ... and then 10 pts and 4 punts in the second half.

But ... the narrative is that back-stabbing, devious, disloyal bitch-made punk Chavis was totally disengaged and actually threw the game on purposes for recruiting purposes ... and made absolutely ZERO half-time adjustments.

Watch out for BeeFense...he'll get you for ruining the narrative of scapegoating Chavis and lifting any heat from CLM:

Are you serious with this bullshite? Chavis laid a giant turd with his "gameplan" for the bowl game. Case in point was the first drive of the game, and the icing on the cake was the last one.

Two drives, almost 30 plays, almost an entire quarter of clock used. The defense was hot garbage in the bowl game, and is why we lost.

I don't think you are keeping up.

That defense was terrible. And, you can make a pretty good argument that it was a result of Chavis' decision.

Regardless, the defense was absolutely the biggest factor in the ND loss.

Here is another stat. Notre Dame had 263 yards rushing (LSU had 285 btw).

At least you admit to being really upset that everyone wasn't blaming Miles.

Did Sumlin really fire his poolboy in a tweet? I guess he avoids face-to-face confrontation like Chavis.

For years people have been crediting Chavis for the good defense at LSU and saying Miles has nothing to do with it and Chavis was "saving Miles' job".
But now that they sucked in a game, defense is on Miles?

How convenient

I don't think anyone thinks that Chief couldn't have handled it better. shite I am a fan that truly believes that LSU is better off with Chief than without him.

That being said he ain't here and he ain't coming back. He went to a soon to be hated rival so frick him he is now TIGA BAIT!!!!!!!

I am?

That's because many idiots like you think if you aren't wanting to fire everyone then you think everything is perfect.

What I do like calling out is irrational negativity.

I don't do that.

If the defense plays well, kudos to Miles. He is the Head Coach. And good job to the DC.

If LSU wins, kudos to Miles, a W is a W.

If LSU loses, it's on Miles, he is the Head Coach.

In Miles W-L Career Record, for the ND Bowl Game ... there will not be an asterisk or dash with "Chavis" next to it. It'll simply be a loss, just as it is a loss for LSU.

The man is not above criticism and accountability, despite his overall record at LSU and accomplishments.

Proe it. Do you agree with this:

Plain and simple the loss of the ND game was team effort and blame. Poor play in the trenches on both sides of the ball, missed field goal opportunity, poor officiating call, and extremely poor QB play. The defense definitely could not get a stop at the end of the game when we really needed one and Chief takes blame for that. But with 4th & less than one on the fifty yard line with our stable of backs and our o-line not attempting to draw them offsides at least was fricking stupid. Personally I think we should have gone for it because they were moving the ball on us all game and I was fearful we would not get the ball back and they would get into field goal range. My fears obviously came true.

That was a team loss and all coaches need to take equal blame!!!

I do think the defense was distracted though because they had a whole lot of time to prepare for ND and everyone knew they would be running the ball.

Of course, he is the Head Coach.

It's just the way it is.

People in charge often get more credit than deserved when things go right ... and certainly get more blame than deserved when things go wrong.

Comes with the territory.

Happy now?

What the hell are you even saying????

No I don't want to fire everyone, but I do want to hold people that are getting EXTREMELY well paid accountable. If they are not doing the job then figure out why and fix it. If that means firing someone for not doing his job well enough, then so be it.

I am almost afraid to ask because I don't think you have a logical thought in your head, but you do understand in the business world when people are not doing the job they were hired to do there is a very likely chance they get fired don't you?

I like how y'all are using explosive, long scoring plays as a negative towards the offense, or better yet, acting like those plays don't count

It's hysterical and sad all at the same time.

"Well...yes...the defense did not play great." BUT!!!!! If the offense would have been smart and not scored so damn quickly, the defense would not have gotten tired!" "It's still their fault!"
