I’ve got a Speed Queen washer from 15 years ago or more. The water addition at the start is fine - large stream of water whether hot, cold, or warm. Fills quickly. The water addition for the rinse cycle is just trickling in. Seems to be a recent issue according to my wife.

What could possibly cause this disparity in water flow?

The volume of rinse water can depend on the cycle selection. Also, your wife may have only just noticed the difference and there is nothing really wrong.

1. Check your inlet screens. Sediment can settle out when no water is flowing and build back up as water flows.
2. Follow the diagnostic procedure for the water valve, it could be a weak or sticking coil
3. Follow the diagnostic procedure for the timer, which sends signal to the coils on the water valve.

Something has been wrong with the mixing valve or however it works since I bought mine. The temps just seem mixed up but I really only wash on cold so I haven't got it fixed. Not sure what sort of mechanism it uses but maybe it's a similar issue.

Found out today I was wrong. Cold water is slow also. I thought I tested that the other day, but maybe I didn’t set it properly and fooled myself. Will look at it once this load is done.

Are the hot and cold water supply hoses reversed? The hot and cold sides of the mixing valve have electromagnetic coils that receive voltage to open them to allow flow. Assuming it's hooked up correctly and there are no restrictions, you should verify the coils are working, check the signal and work backwards from there to the temp selector or timer while checking the wiring along the way.

Mixing valve.

My model looked like this

look up the manual for your model and find the parts list.
Amazon will have several versions of the same one with aftermarket stuff as well as original.

Changed mine twice in the 12-15 yrs it has been around.

Yutube is your friend for changing it.
