Saturday is Skylar's last game in the Maravich Center and looking back it is amazing how far he has come as a player and how much he has done for this team. I actually played with Skylar's older brother Stan when we were younger and I remember seeing Skylar at the games shooting around at halftime and thinking he was going to be a special player. Outside of his ability on the court I think the two things we can all respect about Skylar are his intelligence and his character. We all know Skylar is a 4.0 student who will likely be someone's primary care physician down the line. But this also a guy who almost never misses Sunday morning church (He and his family go to my mom's church Star Hill Baptist in BR) even after a Saturday night game. Just thought I would post a few of clips of some of Skylar's most memorable moments of his LSU career.

EDIT: Lastly, this Saturday will be a chance to get a glimpse at potential #1 NBA Draft Pick, Georgia Fr SG Anthony Edwards in a head to head matchup with Mays. Please come out to support Skylar and see this exciting matchup live!

I used to think he was an out of control liability on the court and he has turned into such a great player for us. Nice career.

This guy...don't know where we'd be if he hadn't returned. Hats off to him

Never the best player on the court, but was a good player for us that everyone wants on their team. Got better and better each year, credit to him on a great career. Best moment to me was him just absolutely going off on Maryland at the end of the round of 32 game.

Hopefully, we can get players to follow his lead and stick around for a few years.

Something I’ve always wondered so I’ll ask you, would you rather have 2 or 3 5* or top tier recruits mixed with a roster full of Mays type players rather than having a roster full of 4 and 5* guys? I’m not sure it isn’t better to go that route. That way you have senior laden rosters who have experience and are battle tested. In March it often seems like those type teams have more success. What do you think?

I’d rather 2-3 top tier recruits supplemented with Mays types. Like you said, they are more experienced and battle tested. They also, assuming the same coach, have been in the system longer. There’s less turnover year to year and you have less players that need to learn the sets/concepts.

I think you’re right a team with say Mays, Bigby Williams, Taz Mitchell, Darrell Mitchell and a 5* like a Watford and guys like Days and Emmitt coming off the bench would be a very capable group. I know they played at different times but I’m using senior examples as more of an avatar for the type of player.

The only reason I bought a ticket Saturday was for Sr Day.

Gosh I hope the refs don't ruin this game too.

Skylar is my homie. One of the all-time greats.
Better dude than he is a basketball player, which is saying something

Thank so much.
I started a thread after this one about getting to the game early for the senior presentations. Hope more like you will attend.

I’ll miss Skylar like crazy

I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have been pretty. Probably at or below the Mendoza Line.
