Another contribution that he makes is his D, and clever steals with a quick flick of his hand.

Not a pro prospect....

That’s what everyone thought about Garret Temple. Dude is still in the NBA

Mays has been steady improving each year. I really like his game right now. Used to have trouble finishing, but seems like he worked on it a lot! I think he'll be the steadiest player on the team. I enjoy watching him play!

I've given Mays a ton of shite in the past.

He's stepped up his game this year in a major way. Seems to be a lot more comfortable and smooth shooting the ball and is finishing better at the rim. Not to mention protecting the ball better.

And he's pre-med I think, I doubt he goes pro.

I’ve changed my view that he can’t be an NBA player, but I still don’t believe he’ll get drafted at this time. Maybe with another year at this level of play.

Waters shooting seems to be coming around but it is the continuing rash of turnovers that is hurting us. Some of it is just careless, not paying attention kind of stuff but other times he is just trying too hard to pull off the great play. Everything doesn't have to be an alley oop dunk or driving through four guys to dish. He can let the game settle around him, make the safe pass and then wait for his spots to take more of a chance. Lately it seems he starts off every game with two or three quick turnovers without even getting warmed up.
Don't know how much his head is fixed around looking good for the pros so he will be drafted. But they won't think much of all the turnovers either. His small size is always going to make him an iffy pro prospect. I hope he does get drafted but I also hope he realizes that it is team play that will get him the most opportunities to show what he can do if he just plays within himself and let's the game come to him and not try and force anything.

Waters is my biggest worry right now. We need him in double digits with stat lines of 7 assist 3 rebounds and 1-2 steals.

apples and oranges.

Garrett Temple is a 6'6" defensive stopper.

Waters is a little dude (5'11", 167 lbs).

Easiest way to put it is last year Waters had to force the issue or we would lose. This year he has talent around him and forcing things is hurting us more then helping. But remember, he is still just an underclassman. I do think he can get it figured out this season, and we are going to benefit when he does. Right now smart and Mays both are playing lights out as guards, so Waters can literally just take open shots and easy drives to the basket only as far as shot selection. And like you said, hold on to the darn ball.

Unfortunately waters looks to be trying to demonstrate his NBA level, skills. It is a bit different for him as we now have several, legit scoring options. We do have to,figure it out.
