Is this last years team? No. Is it a championship caliber team? Absolutely!

Is anyone saying this isn’t a championship caliber team?

The odds are stacked against them to repeat, but that has nothing to do with the talent on the team, it’s just that it is hard as frick to repeat in this sport.

This team will definitely be there in the end.

The pitching staff is good and deep and I have all the faith in the world that Jay Johnson will figure out the lineup and have a solid hitting team by the time postseason play comes around.

It’s a championship caliber team that seems to have a lot of trouble running the bases.. if there’s not 1 wtf it’s not LSU baseball.

Hitting is the question. We have enough pitching and defense to make it.

Who is the Gavin Dugas on this team who seems to always get the big hit or key the rally?

It’s early still but this team seems weirdly just all around damn good, possibly Elite and more, but in a low key way. Or something like that. I say weirdly because it’s without the flash of last season, which almost seems more lethal. Silent assassin and such.

Steven Milam. I like what I’m seeing from Bingham. I think he is a battler. And Travinski. I also like Ashton Larson, although it will be tough to get enough playing time this year.

I like CJJ’s mentality. “We’re not defending anything. Last year was last year. This is a new season and another chance.” (Paraphrased)

Our batting approach has to improve. We have been bad the last 2 games. Just the opposite of the Houston trip. Example: CJJ was mad that Neal swung at a pitch 6 inches outside. There many other examples.
