He was asked at the 4:15 mark about his bullpen

Right before that, "the best coaching anyone can have in life is playing time".

not sure how many times he has said outside of Guidry, the bullpen has like 3IP worth of SEC usage

In the clip, Jay said he agrees with Skip about it He then just listed a bunch of guys that he hopes can contribute. As others have said, before postseason you have to play a lot of games.

He was clearly suggesting he thought they had a ton of bullpen depth, which is why he brought up Skip’s comment for context

Skip didn’t have the transfer portal.
maybe not and yes Jay has NIL but let's not act like LSU didn't get players either. Skip had the "UTT program" like everyone else at the time.

"Under. The. Table." With "strong as$ offers" etc and lots of it at the time.

So who are the eight? You are implying that the relief pitchers CJJ tried last night are not reliable (instead of reliable guys who had bad nights). OK, so who can we rely on?

I’m not saying he has 8, maybe he doesn’t have 7. My point is that Jay clearly brought up Skip’s comment as a way to suggest that he may have more than 8-10.

Was Jay drunk when he said we had 3 innings of bullpen usage?

What is the point you think you’re making? Once we get through 8 pitchers in a weekend just concede and throw position players on the mound? Just leave a guy in if he’s getting wrung up? I’m sure skip would be the first to admit that’s not going to be the same 8 guys week in and week out. Some of them will have their stuff, some will have a bad day.

This is false.

I just think he’s highly overrated by our fan base because of the honeymoon and 2023 season, and it has made most fans blind to some clear shortcomings during his time here that are concerning in terms of his ability to have longterm success at the level we all expect for LSU Baseball.

Remember, we saw Paul come in and win a natty early and the base felt similar at this point in his career at LSU. The base feels differently about Paul now.

Just a handful of years ago this place loved Orgeron and now he’s almost completely a punchline when mentioned here.

The facts are that Jay won a championship, but equally true is that he’s been here for 3 complete seasons and we didn’t host or make it out of the regional round in two of those three seasons, with some really long and bad stretches of baseball in those seasons.

I do have what I believe are legit concerns about Jay. LSU should not be a hard job to win big at in baseball, especially if you have the right guy. Do we? I’m not convinced.

That doesn’t mean I hate Jay or don’t cheer for the program or his success etc. Far from the truth, I still watch every game and love Tiger baseball. I just have high expectations and I’m objectively critical when I don’t feel like we’re meeting the lofty standards LSU baseball should have.

F anybody who has a problem with my opinions hurting their feelings. I want LSU to be great and there’s historical proof it can be this way.

Bruh we used 7 pitchers last night with the following stat line against the10th best hitting team in the conference:

3.2IP, 9H, 7R, 7ER, 5BB, 1K, 101 pitches, 56 strikes

Did we use our top two relievers? No. But this shows we are incredibly fragile beyond Cowan and Evans.

Jay confidently went on to rattle off a dozen bullpen arms that he thought could defy Skip’s thinking on that—many of which contributed to last night's 9H, 7R, 7ER, 5BB, 1K, 101 pitches, 56 strikes performance in the final 3.2IP to blow a lead against the 10th best hitting team in the conference.
