Florida laughs in my face? I don’t get it. Congratulations to them on winning the CWS. I never said they didn’t.

You asked when was the last time we were #1. I told you. You just want to keep moving the goalposts? I provided you with the resumes of the other coaches and programs that people like to throw out as being so much better than PM and LSU. PM has won the SEC two more times than Tim Corbin in less time. He’s won it one less time than O’Sullivan who has had great first round talent on their pitching staffs

That’s not the issue. We all know Paul did a great job and won a Natty. That’d doesn’t mean it’s wrong to notice when a coach is past his prime. He was a good coach, but its still a good time for him to move one. Good for him to recognize that and make the decision now.

Yeah I saw you post that to him. He doesn’t want to hear that. It doesn’t fit his narrative

There's only one Skip Bertman, and he casts a large shadow over the program. Paul is Paul, He'll never be Skip but no one will be. I know I wouldn't want to be the next coach coaching with both of them in the stands.

top recruiting class every year
LSU’s recruiting classes have ranked top 5 the last 4 years. Have they finished the season anywhere near the top 5 in any of those years? You sure you want to use this argument?

Yes, I am. Not my fault you misunderstood the argument. Recruiting rankings are nowhere near an exact science and anyone who thinks LSU has had better recruiting classes than Vandy isn’t paying attention. And when you can give every player a scholarship, you have no excuse for not getting the number 1 recruiting class. That was my point.

It can work but with his medical issues - dunno and the impact

Seems like your argument is that Vandy is good because the get good players. According to the rankings, LSU gets good players too. Are you sure you understand your argument?
Also seems like you change your argument when people call you out, though, so I don’t know why I’m wasting my time.

My argument was that Vandy has no excuse to not have the best recruiting class. That’s pretty simple. Of course LSU gets good players. LSU doesn’t have the ability to offer 1st round talent full scholarships and convince them to come to school on a regular basis. Getting a Dylan Crews is rare for LSU. Vandy routinely gets high draft picks to come to school and that is a major advantage that other teams don’t have.

Really? What argument did I change?

Just like all of PM’s players hate him in private according to rant posters who are in the know. Right? Who reported on it?

Skip realizes you can’t have the success he had in the college game today, yet somehow so many of this fan base can’t recognize that.
Most understand the game has changed. But some programs and coaches are adapting nicely. We were not.
And I like PM just fine.

Honestly, why do people keep regurgitating this narrative that LSU fans, in general, just expect a coach to come in here and repeat what Bertman did? Who ever said that, and why do some of you presume to know what people are thinking?
Nobody in their right mind has THOSE kinds of expectations. Would we like for it to happen? Duh. Who wouldn't? But the reality, if you actually READ and LISTEN to what people actually say, and not what you think they really mean inside of their minds, is that people just want to see a program that is a consistent threat to win it all, and not a stale, do enough to get by sort of program. Because Skip built a standard here that demands we SHOULD expect more than what this program has been lately.
That's the whole point. You don't build something just to watch it fall. You build it for a purpose, and you maintain it the best you can. You don't want fans becoming apathetic and comfortable with being middle of the pack. You want them engaged and expecting success.

5 in 10 years is unbelievable and not sure you’ll see a run like that again.

I think the majority of the fan base expects more than 1 in 15 years....along with players having more baseball awareness than we’ve seen the last few years. Coaching has slipped
Change needed to be made, doesn’t mean he’s not respected

Skip coached at a different time as for the competition was concerned.
1500 wins, a NC, and playing for a 2nd is amazing in the college baseball of today. imo
