Miles liked him some higher class acquaintances on the down low. That's what he means.
That is certainly a reasonable inference.

I find the "he didn't want to leave" part hard to swallow. Miami wasn't holding a gun to his head, if he wanted to stay at LSU, he would have.

JL was the ineligible rumors
Yea im sure we put all our eggs in the basket of a QB who's most significant action of the season was taking a mercy knee at ole miss, and scrapped it all when he dinged his finger in practice.
Les was always starting JJ and went down with the ship in spectacular fashion.

How much of a secret was it? Pretty sure it was one of the condos above Voodoo BBQ

In their defense, having a secret condo on W. Chimes right off campus (Per Skip) kinda fuels this theory...
Sometimes it's easier to sleep 5 min from your office from 1-5 am than it is to drive 30 min each way and lose an hour of sleep

You think the off campus apartment was only for entertaining Michigan reps ?

As far as the championship game against bama, I have it from a reliable source that we prepared to start zach mettenberger all the way up until a couple days before kick off. Then he was injured in practice leaving us completely unprepared.
I hope you're being serious.

Skip flat out said that Nick wanted to come back after his 1st year with Miami and were only in year 1 with Miles. Nothing we could do.
Did he really admit this at long last? The frick there wasn't anything we could do! You fire Miles' goofy arse and bring back the best coach we've ever had. We would have been a dynasty. Good call, old Skip. Instead, Bama got him.

Pretty sure Les' house is in Bocage.

He said he went there on breaks from football practice, and to sleep on late nights working.
Well that settles it, obviously nothing else could ever have happened there. Like a meeting with Michigan reps that was just confirmed by the former AD.

It is. I love when people try to sound like they know what they're talking about though.

Saban may have wanted to return but 2007 was like a century ago. Saban was coming off of a 7-5 season at Alabama and LSU and Les had just won the National Championship, the Sugar Bowl before that, and made the SEC championship the year before that. We were winning at a rate unprecedented in school history.

What are we arguing with the apartment? was it a honey hole for Les to bang coeds?
personally good for him if that's what floats his boat and he could get away with it.
