This is already a championship-caliber squad without exposing your future top 10 draft pick to additional injury
You and WiseGuy need to stop humping doorknobs and take a breath. Everything you’re suggesting is not only inapplicable to this team, but also a sure fire way to fumble a shot at a championship

Maybe not what most people think, but I don't think he is a better hitter than anyone we have that can be in the lineup.
I still think with Pearson and Kling will both come around eventually and you will have Jobert and those 2 battling for OF spots and Morgan will be back at 1B with Jones at DH.
If we haven't seen him take an AB yet, I would not expect him to hit very much if at all this year.

Never say this. Lamar will be a tough midweek game next week and A&M on the road isn't going to be easy what so ever.

Can we not get Morgan back to 1B?

You don't hold back when you're trying to win. You can't play anything scared of injury. I'll hump your shitty take on this doorknob all the way to Omaha. Let the kid hit along the way.

That's not going to happen as long as White is unable to play 3B

I’m going off strictly that MLB Pipeline says they would project Skenes as a top 3 round 1st baseman
A righty, righty 1B going that high in the draft means they believe the bat is for real.

Can you elaborate?
You think LSU has 9 better hitters than PS?

also batted .314 in 2022 with 10 doubles, 13 homers and 38 RBI … in 2021, he was voted National Co-Freshman of the Year by Collegiate Baseball, sharing the honor with LSU’s Dylan Crews … Skenes was voted the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2021; made 18 relief appearances on the mound and saw action at DH, catcher and first base … batted .410 in 2021

Yes because winning has been hard to come by so far.
Don’t ever attempt to gamble or invest. Your lack of appreciation for catastrophic risk is disturbing

Skenes did it last year
For Air Force. Which goes to my point. We don't need his bat. I don't think Air Force had a lineup stacked with guys like Dylan Crews, Tre Morgan, Tommy White, Gavin Dugas, Jared Jones, etc.

If he is the best DH'er we have on roster I'm sure he would get a few swings in here and there.

Not really what I meant. Not 9 better hitters but Skenes is only going to DH. So White and Jones are better hitters IMO. You could put Morgan in LF and Jones at 1B with White at 3B when White is healthy and Skenes could DH. Then you would be asking if Skenes is a better hitter than Jobert, Pearson, and Kling or if it is worth it to take at bats away from them to get Skenes a few at bats.
I know Skenes had great stats at Air Force. He is a very good power hitter but he has plenty swing and miss. People are already complaining about Jones swing and miss lately.
In the fall he hit .216 with 30%K rate and in the spring he only had 2 AB and 1 was a K and 1 was a BB.
Doesn't seem it would be worth taking AB from anyone else to get him in the lineup, but he could get in the lineup this weekend and rake and then hit the rest of the year and prove me completely wrong.

Wasn't he batting like .600 going in to last night?

It wouldn’t matter if he was 2001 Barry Bonds reborn. Pitching wins 10 times out of 10 in the postseason. We need him healthy and whole all the way through. When he’s not on the mound he needs to be covered in bubble wrap
Unfortunately there are a number of knuckle-draggers in our fan base who who are too easily distracted by loud pings and flashing lights to understand this. It is what it is

Yes, and they still have some idiots who mentioned how he strikes out a lot and would like to see Beloso get some AB in his place.
Posted on 3/1/23 at 12:49 pm to MrWalkingMan
I don't want him DHing and running bases. But I would like him to get a few ABs so we could use him as a PH. You let him bat once in critical situations and then PR for him. Right now our only RH PH option is Travinski who has tons of swing and miss. Kling could be that guy but my guess is Kling eventually becomes a regular starter in RF since Jobert is so bad out there. I could see a scenario where Jones loses his starting job too in SEC play once teams learn how to pitch him and he becomes our primary RH PH. But if Jones and Kling become every day starters like I expect them to then we have no one to PH in critical moments vs a LHP like what happened with Neal last night

Keeping the Friday guy fresh is the best recipe. Especially when we simply do not need his bat to be a good offense.
But I’m sure everyone is convinced Skenes would have 4 hits last night.

We will be coming off 4 games with 1 day off for Lamar, too. I'm not sure what pitching will look like specifically for this game and the Monday game preceding it.
