A similar thread should be:
Who would you want as an OC?

Steele should have never been hired as the dc. He is fricking stupid as the DC, give him man to man corners and the retard wants to run zone. The guy is a recruiter and position coach. He should have been hired as the linebacker/ st coach

So the safe answer is to stay the course and just hope things get better? Come on man!!!

I remember hearing the same thing out of Texas fans that they needed to give Mack time.

Hire a coaching staff that actually competes for championships.

I don't get paid to find a coach but it's clear to see that things are pretty bad. LSU is in danger of losing 3 straight games for the first time in 16 years. Who was the coach then?

Choctaw - what is it exactly that you're advocating? Status Quo? For how long? Staff changes? Do nothing? From your responses here, I can't see where you have a position except for defending Les.

You gotta figure that Feleipe Franks, Edwin Alexander, Donavaughn Campbell, Edwin Alexander, all those guys are pretty nervous about their commitments at this point.

get rid of Peveto obviously. with the recruiting class and the talent we have returning give everyone else one more year. If we don't, at the very least, win the west next year then its time to make changes. if you hit the panic button now you risk losing the #1 recruiting class in the country

In this day and age with social media, you gotta think these recruits see the writing on the wall.

shite like this probably gets tweeted to them.

I don't know what would be worse for recruiting. A coach coaching for his job or ripping the band off and making a good hire and playing the long game. Hell, if by some chance Jimbo went to LSU I'd like to think LSU wouldn't miss a beat in recruiting. But obviously that's unlikely to happen.

I agree I don't think he's gone even losing out. Look this team right now ain't beating Ole Miss on the road. I think they beat aTm then Miles get rid of BDP and keeps Cam. He has one more year.

Man, I see what you're saying. But it's not just losses. Hangriff said it best. This one felt different. It was the fashion in which LSU lost and the complete inability to adapt. I firmly believe that Les will not get this team to the next level unless he has some sort of epiphany. I appreciate his time here and think LSU fans should honor him for his accomplishments. But all eras come to an end. JMO

Wouldn't be at all surprised if he just retires and saves himself the trouble of getting forced out next year after a similar season.

I think they'll likely give him 1 more season to turn it around. Don't know that he's capable though.

Agree. Steele couldn't stop pond water when he was at Clemson.

I am 100% with you on getting rid of Peveto. We could do that right now. There has to be someone readily available who could do a much better job.

As for the recruiting class, given the early commitment wave of the past few years, the risk of losing commits is is going to be the case every single year. The question is when do you take the hit.

I think Cam is gone and Steele gets another. Let's.l not forget the lack of DL depth. That is shifting with upcoming recruits. Secondary has been the real issue this year defensively. Big plays and terrible angles the last 2 games. Jefferson needs to be benched

Miles was warned about this last year. That was the issue with the short-term contracts and bringing in Coach O. I think he has another year to let Orgeron and Frank get some players in. Alleva is not worried about the donors as much since the SEC network contract and the money coming in.

The real problem here is Alleva. Miles' agent took advantage of him with the Ark bluff. Miles agreed to no more money, but more years and restarted the clock on his buyout. Alleva thought it was an act of kindness when Miles essentially made himself untouchable for 5 years. No one wants to cut a check for both a new staff and the old staff. So Miles will get another year. The talking heads on 104.9 alluded to Alleva making all the moves now without meddling from TAF or BOS, the only way that happens is with the SEC Network money. We just re-upped that bastard and if you look at his track record, beyond Torina (his 2nd choice), he is terrible at hiring Coaches (Trent, Caldwell). Johnny was hired by boosters and Collis Temple.

Les will get next year, but that is it. Unless we win big, I think Alleva asks him to step down or move into another position in fund raising, etc.
