does that mean 9-3 and 2nd place SEC West finishes are acceptable since we'll have Sundays and Super Bowls to look forward to for the near term/

Will be interesting to see since the football critics will be distracted.

Tiger...you gotta admit Saints are more relevant than LSU these days at least, right?

Hard to judge right after a Saints Superbowl victory. Superbowl trumps 2 MNC's big time, ESPECIALLY the Saints. 43 years of utter frustration. Don't think they can be comparable. Equal but a different passion for both for a lot of fans.

Well said, TigerLee, well said. Very eloquent response to an irrelevant, worthless post.

Reality is the Saints are a player in the NFL now. Get used to it. Already looking at the opening night Thursday night NBC game that kicks off 2010 will be in the Dome...Probably Vikings or Steelers...Aikman commented Saints could be in contention for the NFC for at least 3 more years.

what I mean by that is that people are on a high from SB.
Dont kid yourself, LSU is on a diff level in this state than the saints.

Ill admit obv winnging big game boosted that franchise,, but at the end of the day theyll always be the nola saints and LSU Football will ALWAYS be king in this state.

I just don't understand why both can't be equal. One is in the NFL, one is CFB. I love them equally.

This I agree with. The Saints are trying desperately to market the team to represent Louisiana and Gulf Coast. This Superbowl V may help somewhat. They are the New Orleans Saints and primarily their support is N.O. based. But yes, LSU is still king in the State.

I am VERY proud of the Saints and what they have accomplished is nothing short of outstanding. Are they Louisiana's favorite team? Right now, probably. I really don't know, but in my heart they can't take the place of LSU. I know there are a lot of people that are the same way, but to say we are in the majority, I have no idea and it's not important.

(in that order)

I love both of them equally...

Time for LSU to step up again and win a NC!

i predict they win JJ's senior year in the superdome... where the saints play!

LSU Football is king of this State but the Saints draw fans from the entire gulf south.

I have been a fan of both my whole life but I am much more passionate for LSU sports in general.
