Duke has better assistant coaches than JJ.

In one sense I agree. I think it was best for him to go to a school who had a coach that wouldn't try to fit him into their system.

However, he came to a school with a coach that didn't know how to use him properly.

I agree with this. Simmons wanted an audition to show his tools, and here he could do anything he wanted. He had no fear of being benched. At Duke or Kentucky, he wouldn't be the primary ball-handler, and he'd be subbed out a lot more.

If he could have made a run at LSU, his legend would be even bigger than when he came here. If he went to Duke and they stumbled, it's possible questions would pop up.

Simmons probably would have averaged a triple-double at Duke and they would have been a top 5 team the entire year

For those experts who lament that he should've gone to a high-profile BBall factory like Duke, watching this first round game makes clear to me that: His unique skills would've been suppressed by unselfish team concept. His stats would've suffered greatly by wealth of talent (Ingram, Allen) with whom he would have to share ball, minutes, and spotlight His passive nature would've stood out in contrast to Ingrams desire, hunger, and tenacity.

IM grateful he came here ! tearing him down doesn't encourage more recruits like him, they don't come around often !

The entire country would be watching him in the Final Four.

Disappeared? The cream rises to the top with good coaching and his skill set.

Ummm....I think coach K might have a better idea how to use him rather than everyone standing around doing nothing. Maybe like saying, Ben, shoot the ball more. Don't wait until your team is about to lose before you take over. Stuff like that.
