I remember a very similar reaction on the message boards when we hired Saban. I'm not overly excited about this bit lets give the guy a chance before we persecute him

I'm not comparing the hire, I'm comparing the reaction to the hire. Message boards weren't the same as they are now for sure, I'll concede that but there were talk shows and break room talk at work, and the reaction was the same! ..... Who is this guy? / what a shitty hire! / this is the best they could do? We can't win with this guy!

bullshite. Anyone who bitched about Saban being hired at LSU didn't know shite about college football. The difference? During that time we used to hire outside folks to find the most qualified candidates. Then we went and got them.
