I like playing Florida, but I'd much rather get to see some other schools more often. The LSU/UF game has only been a real game recently. They used to take us to the woodshed. We've played them annually since 71 and our record is 16-23-2 against them. It wasn't even close until '02.

how is rotating opponents unfair.

Also, no one really supports LSU's idea.

4 schools want to play each other, the 6 "lesser" teams don't care as long as they don't get paired with 1 of the bigger teams. OM-Vandy and MSU-UK are not games cirled in red every year.

TA, you sound just like one of those 6 year olds that sit in the middle of the floor pouting and whining because he doesn't get his way. You gonna start holding your breath now too? It is what it is.... Get over it already..

Should make a 6 team swap...

Mizzou / Arkansas (border war)
LSU / S. Carolina
Florida / ATM (Sumlin and Muschamp could have their queer fight on the field rather than the press)

Why are Alabama fans on the rant so often these days. Get the frick back to the SEC rant and discuss it.

Now, Tennessee stinks right now but do we think that’s going to continue forever?

Maybe not forever but for the foreseeable future Tennessee will be Bama's bitch. UT may be solid this season but they don't have shite behind Bray and those Jr. Wrs. It's inevitable that Dooley will be fired so who can Tennessee bring in that can beat Saban? No one that's who. So Bama can put a W in the win column for this game for the next 10 years, can LSU say that about their game with Florida?

that's ironic coming from a Bama fan. Of course you don't have to "hold your breath", you just tell the SEC what you want to do.

ETA: or perhaps there's some "logical" reason that the 2nd most western team in the SEC is put in the SEC East.

Do you like playing UF more than you like increasing your chances to win the SEC title?

that's how i've felt for years.

however i did feel like we made it like 10 yrs ago when i heard the UF fans hated playing us. if i wasn't an LSU fan, i'd love to see those two teams tangle every year.

as my goal for the team is to win the SEC every year, that chance is greater without a florida caliber team on the sched every year. it's like LSU has to win one more game most seasons.

the only reason we keep this permanent opp is for the alabama schools. that's it. the rest of the conference would benefit from a rotating schedule.

there's no more OU/Neb.

tradition more than ever right now is being re-written in coll fb what with possible playoffs and realignment.

no better time than now to switch to a 6-2 imo.

If Bama gets a cream puff like Tennesee every year then LSU should get Vandy as their permanent opponent

No WAY!!!

I'm in for $500 per game (4 Tickets, TAF Fee, Parking). Bad enough I have to sit through the Western Kentuckys and North Texas of the world. Give me a quality eastern opponent EVERY year...FLORIDA.

To be the best...you need to beat the best.

It would be a little different if you all actually had a rival. Its also not fair to the only team that has never won the west, to make it all but impossible for them to ever do it. Ole Miss and Vandy need each other, as do all the other rivalry games.

Dont know why you all think its unfair for you. The big 6 play and the the others play. Pretty simple.
We need to go to 9 games then you can keep permanents and play everybody in the conference every 3 years.

That's not much considering you have 4 tickets.

As I always point out in this discussion, the easy solution is to put the Gumps and Barners in the East. When you suggest that, many of their fans claim that it isn't fair because "all of the good teams are in the East."

I agree, that is a bit unfair. Sort of like playing the best team in the SEC on a year to year basis from 1990-2001 every year and going 1-11.

I just like to point out that when Tiger fans complain about how the permanent opponent is inequitable and offer this solution, the Gumps and Barners have the audacity to say that isn't fair. Double standard that has been in the SEC since expansion.
